hi there everyone

I know a couple of guys who take sterorids for body growth and muscle build etc..i was just wondering, do these drugs affect mood as much as people make out? does it affect say, mood swings, irritability, temper etc?

Also, when the person stops taking it, can it still have after affects even when it's not in their system?

yes it can cause mood swings etc, and taking steroids is not the way to grow muscle properly. Not only can it shrink certain things it'll mess up your organs like you heart for example.

One of my boyfriends in college had used steriods in high school. These are some of the longterm consequences of steroid use:

Shrinking of the testicles

Low sperm count

Infertility

Baldness

Development of breasts

Increased risk of prostate cancer

He had some health issues because of the steroid use.He also had prematurely halted growth because he had used the steroids when he was adolescent.

Check out the Steroids forum on http://www.bodybuilding.com. There is a lot of useful information on that site. I think the risk of steroids can be minimized if you use them properly, but if you're not smart about it you can definitely fu(k up your body something fierce.

If you use them correctly and as a jump start you can do it very safely. The trick is don't get too dependant on the quick results. Because it will make you want to keep using them. If you only go 2 cycles you can gain enough and be happy with some serious muscle gain. Some people get too excited and want to get bigger and then bigger and are addicted to the benefits and the "easy" way of doing it. Go 2 cycles and then maintain the muscle you got from those cycles and be happy. If you think you would be one of those guys that wants to get bigger and bigger and have an addictive personaility I would say steer clear of them completely. That is when you will see the sde-effects others have talked about.
