can i date my teacher after the semester is over?

I'm in an art class taught by a grad student who i have a huuuuuuuuuuuge crush on. i'm 22. he's 25 or 26.

semester ends in december.

can i ask him out after december or should i not pursue him?

 

i think he likes me because he's really shy around me and blushes and acts all fidgety when i ask for help which he doesn't do with the other girls.
