Hello everyone. I am new to the site so just wanted to get know some of you who are in similar situations. I am in a 'relationship' with a man who is in a relationship and also living with his child's mother. We have been in this situation going on 5 years. I don't really have others to discuss my relationship with as they don't or try not to understand. Which is understandable because I was once in their shoes. Anyway, to start off how long have any of you been in your relationships, or similar situations?

Why hasn't your boyfriend left his childs mother if they are only living together and not married? He has no legal ties to be with her and he can always file for visitation rights for his child? 5 years is a very long time to be in this situation and stuck while he plays house with another woman who isn't even his wife.

I didn't want him to leave his home and child. I was young and didnt have stuff together and also grew up without a father and would never put his child in that situation. And especially now that we are always off and on I just haven't thought of it.

Hi, I am sorry you are in a similar situation as most of us here. My advice is to leave this guy. You are not with him and I don't understand that you don't want him to be with you. So want do you really want??? Most of us want our MMs to leave their wifes and be with us. My father left my mother and I know myself how it is to be without one. But it very much depends what kind of man - the father is. Mine was lousy and that is why I don't have a contact with him and not because he left my mother for someone else. You can be a good parent without living with your children's mother. It just takes a good will. I think you need to decide what you want in the first place and then act accordingly to what you discover.
