mammasita Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 So my ex has been randomly texting me. We went out to lunch last week. It was nice. I thought I could do this without getting sucked into that feelings place but I don't think I can......and trust me, I've been going back and forth about it a lot. I was in a good, no a great, place for a while before he popped up and I can feel myself starting to move back into a not so good place again. My question is should I just go no contact again or should I let him know that this friend thing isn't working for me at this point in time.....and then go no contact. I mean NC is the end goal.....so it's a matter of saying something beforehand vs not. I'm confused
CarrieT Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Absolutely go back to NC. The "friend" thing only works when there are no more feelings like you've been having. There hasn't been enough time for you to get over and sufficiently mourn the relationship to have a friendship relationship.

Definitely.....but should I have the don't contact me unless you figure out what you want talk (realizing it may never happen lol) or just go quiet?

The wrench in this situation is that I am friends with his sisters and family - his family invites me to their get togethers routinely. In some cases I may still run into him, although for the past 7 months - until recently - I had done my best to avoid such instances..... Ugh.
