saltyfishhead666 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Tomorrow the shelving unit he bought and built is going. I feel proud of me, and sad too. I feel like getting rid of "us" things and his things is me giving small pieces of our relationship away. I know that's silly, it's just stuff. Ah well tomorrow becons. I hope every one is holding their heads as High as they can today. Remember your worth more than what you were dealt X 3
DM42 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I'm sure you won't miss it more than the grief or heartache or whatever emotion might be affecting you by looking at it and being reminded. I do find that for a little while after getting rid of some piece that there is a sadness but relief comes quickly knowing that there is one less reminder around. Well done! 2
Salvatore85 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I've wrestled with getting rid of certain things but I just haven't done it yet. I don't look at these items a lot and honestly have no clue why I don't have the strength to pitch them but I just can't? Either way I'm very proud of you. That's an awesome accomplishment and I envy your strength. I'm sure ill make it to your point one day... 1

Thanks guys, I don't feel very strong right now I feel upset which is silly as its only a shelving unit but I think It's the memories that accompany it that make me sad. Salvatore I'm sure you will someday. If they are in your home and don't bother you then that's fine. This is a huge object in my dining room so I can't help but see it lol. Not looking forward to Monday though. His box of items were delivered and signed for on his base today. He won't check his mail until Monday then he will see them. I just hope he doesn't reach out and say even a thank you xx

We fell pregnant and I went into labor at 17 weeks. We had her cremated and her ashes put into my diamond. I don't think he will ask for it back, either way he wouldn't get it anyway haha x

BC1980 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I actually have a huge pile of t-shirts on the floor of my bedroom. Just t-shirts that we got on vacations together and ones he gave me. I'm kind of hedging on getting rid of them, but I need to go ahead and take them to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. At least, someone else can get some use of out them, as they are perfectly good t-shirts. Moving forward. . . . 1

lovesucks76 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 You guys are an inspiration. It has only been 6 weeks but I've gotten rid of everything, pictures, emails, texts....last night I realized I still have 2 shirts that we bought together which I will need to get rid of and also the shirt I was wearing when we broke up....I haven't been able to wear it again since. I also just found some voice mails from her I forgot I still had on my phone....delete! Hearing her voice would make me very sad...so!
