Today at work I was talking to a coworker and I told her, "Well, I'll go to ___'s room now."

"Why?"

"To up morale around here."

"Good luck with that..."

"I don't need luck."

"You'll need to bring candy or something."

And then I said this right off the cuff, and I amaze myself at how confident and witty I was in my response. "I *AM* the candy."

LOL!

She gave me a "huh" look like "wow, this guy is confident."

Mentality and how you view yourself is so big! Most of the self-improvement battle after all is in-between the ears.

Very true, but people that dont get it will just call you arrogant so they feel better about themselves.

Yea people do tend to want to bring confident people down to thier level, however some people are just full of themselves. Temper confidence with humility. There is virtue in that.

Oh for sure. They know I laugh at myself many of the times as well. I have a bit of self-deprecating humor, myself, so I feel it's balanced out pretty well. I am not overly arrogant, but I will prop myself up once in a while.

You are right; mixing the two at the appropriate times is so vital. Nobody wants to be a show-off, especially all the time where it becomes your reputation, but nobody wants to be a total loser/person with very low self esteem, either.

Absolutely teknoe . We can look at the glass as half empty or half full. This makes all the difference in the world. Our thoughts are so powerful and when we use them to see the bright side of life we are much better off. Just a lesson I learned.
