WP4046 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I was having a good week on POF and got like 6 or 7 numbers and then all of a sudden I wake up this morning and my profile was DELETED??? And I don't even know why since I have not been rude to anyone or sent sexual messages Why is this site so strict and it's free? It makes no damm sense at all
Philosoraptor Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Did you receive an email from them saying it was deleted? If not, then someone may have your information and possibly deleted your profile.
phineas Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 If you send known copy pasted canned messages to multiple people daily you will get deleted.
Author WP4046 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 If you send known copy pasted canned messages to multiple people daily you will get deleted. A free dating site should not have any rules 1
mammasita Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 A free dating site should not have any rules LOL, seriously?
Author WP4046 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 LOL, seriously? yes seriously, some of the females need to realize that they are on a free site and not be bothered by inappropriate messages
mammasita Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 yes seriously, some of the females need to realize that they are on a free site and not be bothered by inappropriate messages Ok, I might possibly be able to see your point as there is a block feature. At the same time, there are other more appropriate sites for sexual messages - so your point is actually moot. I agree to disagree, but still think I'm right. 1
salparadise Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 yes seriously, some of the females need to realize that they are on a free site and not be bothered by inappropriate messages Hilarious! Did you not suspect that inappropriate messages were inappropriate? 1
Mascara Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 If too many people block you, you'll get deleted. POF is attempting to become more discerning. They know they're seen as a hookup site and they're trying to change that.
Emilia Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 yes seriously, some of the females need to realize that they are on a free site and not be bothered by inappropriate messages .... and maybe some males need to recognise that they are accountable for their actions. 3
MidwestUSA Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 To better judge, I'm going to need to see this inappropriate message. 3

Phoe Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 o.O I was not aware that POF was a "hookup site" My cousin met his wife there.
Janesays Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Yeah they are trying to change from a hookup site to a relationship site overnight That is their right. If you don't like it, start your own dating site with NO RULEZ DOODZ! 1
Anela Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Yeah they are trying to change from a hookup site to a relationship site overnight No, they started to do that about a year ago, I think. I remember reading about it. There was also some sort of new rule about much older men not messaging younger women. Why should we be open to inappropriate messages, just because it's a free site? Makes me wish that I could get someone here, to forward on the cock shots she's been getting, to anyone who might do that to me.
Author WP4046 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 o.O I was not aware that POF was a "hookup site" My cousin met his wife there. It was a relationship and hookup site. And everyone doesn't have to be looking for love. That's what I hate about the new POF, what's wrong with stress relief? 1
MrCastle Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 More like "plenty of women who smell like fish" amirite?
KungFuJoe Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I've never been on a dating site, but I've heard enough to know that there are some serious weirdos that frequent them. So if whatever YOU were saying was bad enough to get your profile straight up deleted? Congrats.
phineas Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 o.O I was not aware that POF was a "hookup site" My cousin met his wife there. My inexpert opinion is that about 5% of the people on that site are actually interested in a relationship. Just because most of the women I contact or who contact me almost immediately go to the sex talk after we start texting. 1

Actually, it's both older men and women who are stopped from sending & receiving messages from younger people. Because, whether you like it or not much older women are also on the site looking for younger guys to hook up with.

I wasn't trying to turn this into a gender war. I know some women who wouldn't mind hearing from an older man, but I wasn't interested in dating someone who would be one of my dad's peers. 1
soccerrprp Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 A free dating site should not have any rules This is a silly thing to suggest. Of course it should have rules, free or not. There is liability regardless of whether one pays or not and a reputation to uphold, however dubious. There are some pay options on POF.

Where I come from FREE means you do whatever. Like the chat lines from back in 2000.......It was a message that said "Anything goes". So it was stupid for some women to report a rude message and she is not paying for the site I got weird messages too but I am programmed to say......."well you get what you pay for"
