During home leave I ran into a highschool sweetheart it was love again before long we were making plans to see each other. What I didn't know was that she was in a relationship. I was sent back overseas to work in an oil refinery while there we made plans to be together I worked out a deal with the company headquarters to remain home and work in my native country. A jealous ex then began sending her emails through fb that I was a rich playboy and that I had other women after me etc. I was upper middle class and never was a playboy.only learned about these b.s later. Suddenly all correspondence ceased, I talked to her brother and he told me that she had just gotten engaged to her live in boyfriend of 2 years and I am shocked why would she just suddenly get engaged to her boyfriend while she was dating me I had no idea that there was a second man in the room I am confused what can I do?

You can forget about her. Her duplicitous behavior will continue with her old/ current fiancé/ live in lover and they will spent the rest of this lifetime in misery. Go out and find yourself a real Woman and be thankful that her lying and cheating will never again affect your life.

If anything, you need to tell her that nothing your ex wrote was true. But if she has proofs, there's not much you can do. It's your words vs proofs........... There's a chance she was getting out of that story but feeling you were not serious about a relationship, she didn't leave him. And he asked her in the meantime.
