Poonam Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Hi Guys.... Recently I was sent on a 2 day training program couple of weeks back by the company. I met this guy who sat next to me on day 1 and we start talking on a professional level becoz we were from the same country, nationality and spoke the same native language we connected pretty well. But for me it was really professional and just a networking sort of thing... as i am MARRIED... HAPPILY On day 2 he forgot his laptop and had to share with me and it was a full day session we couldn't stop talking, laughing, discussing projects and also solved case studies in the training before others.... it was really fun meeting him and later he emphasized that I shud give him my card... which I did. Immediately after the training he looked me up on LinkedIn... for multiple times.... finally end of the week he send me an invite and I accepted it.Next day I got a request on facebook which I accepted and immediately within couple of mintues I received a msg on Facebook saying "Oh u didnt tell me that you were married" He just said that in the message which was weird, creepy and shocking... for me.... I thought maybe I just gave him wrong signals but I was so professional and I wear a ring which is easily noticeable ... Earlier this week he texted me that if he can call me to talk to me which was again weird ... Later that evening he send me a msg saying how shocked he was after he learned that I was married..... Just something he mentioned during those two days was that he was looking for a long term stable relationship and wud like to have a educated, confident, independent and smart girl ... and then I had to also do a mini presentation at the training and he complimented me that how good I am ... and how he wud like a girl like me of course it was said more indirectly....

You were giving out the wrong signals.
oldskl Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Well you clearly didn't give off the signals enough. Can't believe in all that time you didn't once say '...my husband and I...' for something you like eating/doing/visiting.
TB Rhine Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Indeed... chicks with husbands/boyfriends are constantly dropping the h/b-bomb. I also like how she waits til the very end of her post to point out his OBVIOUSLY FLIRTATIOUS COMMENTS towards her at the conference or whatever it was. When you were working together and he basically started intimating that you're everything he's looking for in a woman, you should have picked up on it and shut him down. The frequency with which he's been contacting you indicates to me that he thought the two of you were really hitting it off, and is honestly perplexed to learn that you're spoken for. If he was just looking for a quick tryst or a booty call, he would have made his move at the conference. I would clarify things for him, apologize for any misunderstanding, and then send him on his way.
pureinheart Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 He assumed that she was available, which being married I don't understand that one:confused:, because she was nice?
CC12 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 If you were professional and polite, you didn't do anything wrong. You don't have to tell strangers about your personal life, especially ones you meet in a business setting. It's not your responsibility to preface things you say with "My husband" just so men won't get the wrong idea. He's brought up your marriage twice now and it seems to make you uncomfortable. I think you should delete him off Facebook. You don't have to be friends with him. 1
Kizza Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 This guy is a loser. You were wearing a ring and he didn't know you were married? This guy is a creep. Delete this strange creeper from all your accounts and get the toxicity out of your life. End of story before it becomes a horror story! 1
