As we all know, we can't truly move on and heal if we still have hope.

I was watching the Shawshank Redemption last night and even though I have seen it many times, a line from that movie REALLY sunk in and I had never noticed the depth of these words until now.

Andy and Red were in the cafeteria and Andy was talking about hope. Red pointed his fork at him and said,

"HOPE IS A DANGEROUS THING! HOPE CAN DRIVE A MAN INSANE!"

Oh, that is soooooo true!!!!

I'm not saying ALL forms of hope are dangerous, but in my case (and many others) letting go of that last sliver of hope is absolutely the most terrifying and excruciating moment to deal with but also critical for getting MY LIFE BACK!!!

From now on whenever I feel hope creep back into my thoughts, I will recite those words over and over and over.....until eventually I won't have to think about it.

Can not WAIT for that day!!!!

wow thats weird I've been watching the same movie since i broke up a week ago. The same line intrested me but I thought "i dont want to hear that!"

I got in touch with my ex yesterday so I could hopefully get an idea of how she was feeling after two weeks to herself. The words "I'm pleased for you" make it pretty clear there's no hope of her regretting things!

Now I can carry on healing :D

Yeah, I thought the same thing for the first few seconds. It was like OUCH!!!!

But that is one of the few movies I can stand to watch that doesn't remind me of "him"

I still can't really watch too many movies or even listen to the radio without thinking of him and having that HOPE!

UGHHHHH! (deep sigh)

to me, it was reading an article about forgiveness. forgiving my ex for what he did, forgiving myself for being so inlove, for missing him so much, despite his behavior, for not having seen through his game sooner, for not having left sooner, for trying sooo damn hard...

Forgiveness is about letting go of it, including hope. I am still very angry at myself.
