....Such a funny thing.

That thing we call love. It blinds every single last one of us when we are the ones who get dumped while our partners have prepared themselves and made the decisive move to end things.

Blindsided we just can't get it through our thick skulls that there is nothing we can do. We plead, beg and try to reason to various degrees depending who we are and what the situation is while at the same time weakening our positions and strengthening the positions of our newly crowned "ex".

Damn what a trip. The torture we put ourselves through when it would have been so much easier to pay attention to the warning signs and instigate the break up to begin with.......I say this as someone who has come over the other side, climbed over the wall, found the light out of the darkness....or however the hell you want to phrase it.

My point is I think a lot of it boils down to ego once all is said and done. Yes we miss them and the things we had but the damage is more about the bruise to our egos than anything else and it becomes ever more apparent once we stop caring for our ex's.

I make a vow here today and I'm gonna swear by it. If anyone ever blindsides me like that again I'm gonna walk out that door and tell them to go f*ck themselves. I'm not gonna show that I care or that I need them....the ball will be in their court and I'm gonna be ready to see them squeal. It all becomes about power and I'm never giving it up in that situation ever again.
