My husband wants me to be the non custodial parent and I have not done anything wrong. I let her go to school for a one year attempt and from there he decided that he wanted to take me to court for custody. Anyone know anything about this

I'm confused. Has she already been living with him as the custodial parent for a year? How old is she? And how are his parenting skills?

I read somewhere a few years ago that men only request custody about 20% of the time. But 80% of those win their cases. Many state laws require the court to make decisions without regard to the gender of the parent requesting custody. Rather, the decision will be made on who can provide the best home environment.

Man oh man. This is what's biting me right now. He is a broker and stashes money all over the place while crying poor mouth in court. But his home is much nicer than mine and he lives in a better school district.

And yes. There's a real chance that I could lose my daughter over such a distorted base for judgement.

It may come down to joint custody. Would that be so bad? It seems to be what a lot of parents are doing, and what the judges are granting. I have joint custody myself.

Mine filed for sole custody.
