Laura101 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I've been dating an aquarius man for 4 months and we're taking things slowly. (We're both in our early 30s). He can be typical aquarian and be close one minute and disappear for days the next. He told me there is a work social gathering coming up in a couple of weeks and he'd like me to go along with him. I said that would be nice and thanked him for asking me. He asked me two weeks ago and I think the work gathering is tomorrow night. I saw him on Monday (the first time since he asked me to go) and he didn't mention the work gathering at all. Should I assume he's changed his mind about me going, or how can I ask him?! Thanks in advance.
sillyanswer Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 or how can I ask him?! If you want to see him then just assume that it's happening and that you're going to go, then ask this: "So, what time is that thing tomorrow night?" or this: "Are we meeting at the thing or are you picking me up?" 2
Author Laura101 Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Thank you for responding. It's the first time I've posted on here, so I didn't know what to expect :-) I guess I'm a bit worried about being a bit pushy when I know we're taking it slowly. Do you think that is pushy, and I'm better off just waiting to see if he asks me? I might have the wrong weekend/it's been cancelled/he doesn't want me there anymore.... Sigh!
sillyanswer Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Thank you for responding. It's the first time I've posted on here, so I didn't know what to expect :-) Welcome to Loveshack. I guess I'm a bit worried about being a bit pushy when I know we're taking it slowly. Do you think that is pushy, and I'm better off just waiting to see if he asks me? I might have the wrong weekend/it's been cancelled/he doesn't want me there anymore.... Sigh! Since all you're doing is checking on details of an event that he's already invited you to then I don't think it's too pushy. I can't tell if he's changed his mind, though, but if you ask about this event then you'll find out soon enough! Sometimes it's okay to take action yourself to show that you're interested in seeing a guy. 2
Author Laura101 Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 You are completely right. Thank you! 1
Author Laura101 Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 He replied to say that it turns out that no one else is taking a plus one so he doesn't think it would be right, and apologised. At least I don't have to think about it anymore!!
FitChick Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I thought it seemed a bit odd that he invited you to a WORK social gathering. Even at Christmas, no one at work invites outsiders to office parties. Also found it a bit odd that you have been dating for four months and couldn't ask him a simple question. Do you only date once a month? I personally would never date an Aquarian...
