He definitely has a ton of maturing to do.

I don't know you whole story but that's very similar in how I got back together my exgf and nothing changed on her part and I had to go through a second breakup..just as bad as the first on. Just my 2 cents but avoid the pain it could cause you down the road. Big things need to be changed before you should even consider going a movie together. 1

Let me guess, he's been drifting from your thoughts lately and you've started to feel a little (or a lot) better recently? Do what you think is best! An invitation to the movies could mean a lot of things, so I would suggest declining or not responding if you have any expectations for it.
