Does NC work if still friends with ex girlfriend on Facebook?

Broke up with GF of 9 years a month ago. We have been together since she was 18. I've done all the desperate stuff ( flowers, beg , beg & beg ) , plus even apologize for stuff that doesnt make sense to me at all . Anyways I saw her two days ago to drop off birthday flowers and she mentioned that she loved me but is planning to move to a new State and start a new life....blah, blah.... So today am thinking of starting my NC but we are still friends on FB although I dont write to her online. Will my NC work if we are still connected on FB? ....Thanks for the responses!!!

But to clear it up. NC is a total blackout. Facebook will give you too easy of an access to both communicate and check up on her life. If she shows up in a picture kissing another guy, will that bother you? If so, drop the facebook until you have zero romantic feelings for her anymore.

Well I have hid mine from my newsfeed and all her family and friends, including friends of mine that have her on it.

 

She still likes the odd picture,status, comment but I can't see her stuff at all.

 

This way I haven't blocked her and she can think we are still friends but really I have gone NC on her

Nope, when you go NC, that includes social media. If you're Facebook friends, you can still look into her life.

 

Sorry dude, and it's going to suck for you. 9 years is a long time and it's going to take a while for you to get over her. And even longer if you're still friends with her on facebook.

If by 'work', you mean get her back, then no it won't. That is not the point of NC and it rarely accomplishes that.

 

If by 'work', you mean help you heal and recover, then no it won't due to the reasons stated above.

Not a very good idea. I would suggest blocking her and making a real effort to not stalk her page.
