Imajerk17 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Met an awesome girl at lunch. Texted back and forth. We have tentative plans for Saturday. I decide to go out tonight to my fav cafe. Guess who is there? (Her...) I notice it is her as I sit down and we make eye contact. Takes me a moment to realize who she is (she was in gym attire and now she was dressed up). I say hi politely and chat for a few minutes. I was wondering whether I should go to another table. I then get up and move to another table "in the process of looking for a plug for my computer" (took me a couple minutes to figure out a non-awkward way to do this). Salvagable?
ScreamingTrees Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 What the hell does it matter, bro? Seriously. If you really think that the difference between a girl liking you and not liking you is her not bumping into you until you next meet from the first time you'd met.. Well, it was probably a bad idea to even bother asking for her number in the first place if she's that wishy washy.. But you're jumping to conclusions here, pal. Don't do that, just act as if everything's cool. Everything doesn't have to be perfect all of the time.. Just see her when you're supposed to, and enjoy yourself and her company.. Seriously, all is not lost.. If she totally blows you off, you could just blame what you see as an awkward moment for her flakiness, but for all you know she would've flaked anyway for whatever reason.. TL;DR Shut up and continue the courting process. 1

SJC2008 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Glad it worked out! Might as well turn this into a bad luck thread since it died so fast. A couple years ago I went on a date with a customer I met at work. When I called her she didn't answer and my phone did me the pleasure of pocket dialing her 10 minutes later!
CryForNoOne Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Funny it's all about attitude. I would consider this good fortune. Whenever something like this happens I make a joke about it being fate, good karma, or something...
Star Gazer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Funny you thought of that as horrible luck. I would have joked that, "It's a sign!"
Author Imajerk17 Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 I guess I concern myself w having to be "on" no warmup. The girl was pretty but it took a couple seconds for me to place her. She was dressed completely differently this time around. My first thought was wow she's cute....and then after she said hi I realized who it was.
Star Gazer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I guess I concern myself w having to be "on" no warmup. Huh? Are you saying, "I was concerned about being myself"?
Author Imajerk17 Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Huh? Are you saying, "I was concerned about being myself"? I guess I felt a little bad about needing a moment to recognize her. As mentioned she was dressed completely different sitting fown instead of standing ect. My choice of words in my above post wasnt what I really meant. Edited August 22, 2013 by Imajerk17

Maybe she thought you were really surprised to see her. That's what I would think.
