On second thought, the week of November 22nd may be better for the lunch invitation. This Monday & Tuesday will be too soon, I probably won't see her Wednesday (only working 3 hours), and I can't ask Thursday because Friday we are having an in-office Thanksgiving party. The week of the 22nd may be better anyway - my boss will be on vacation and I can easily take an hour or so for lunch (assuming she's given that long, as well.) Perhaps I should just stick with small talk this week, and maybe Friday (before I leave for the weekend) I'll ask her if she'd like to join me the following week.

Back on topic slightly ;)

I usually say "good morning Miss Smith" and that always gets a good reaction, usually a reply of "good morning Mr MacVicar" and then a big smile from them and then that usually leads into a huge long conversation. Though I usually start calling them by the first name for the rest of the day.

I found out from a co-worker this morning that she is engaged. Thanks for all of your support with this thread.

Awwww, sorry about that :( Well it's a good thing you found out now that later, right? We don't want to see you on another the OM forum!!! There are plenty of fish in the sea ;)

Didn't you check her left hand? The first thing I do before I start hitting on someone.

Sometimes people are sneaky and don't wear one. Or maybe he did not give her one (hey! it happens!!!)

Well there's always those sneaky people that make it hard but anyway its best you find out now rather than start a friendship and then discover it can never go any further.
