emva07 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I get the same, when I have curly hair guys look, but when i get it straight they LOOK. I wonder if it's because I'm exuding more confident because I feel prettier. Carry myself differently. There are definitely guys who i've met with a certain hairstyle and think they're hot, then see pictures of them in the past or present and they just look way different and would not have made my head turn. One guy was so drastic he went from a curly fro that made him look geeky, to an almost shaven look that turned him into a big chick magnet on campus. 1

I did a big bike ride Saturday night, like 3000+ folks were there. I had my helmet on, gloves, riding glasses, etc. So many people I knew called out my name as I walked past them or rode past them. These are folks who had no idea I was a biker too. I was shocked and I thought to myself my hair is part of our "face" if you will...how do they recognize me without seeing "all of me". I have thought the same when I wear a baseball cap or visor, which I do often, with or without sunglasses on.

I'm a big fan of curly hair on women. Something about it is very very sexy. I guess everyone has different tastes but I just don't get the love for straight hair... 1
Phoe Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I think you look pretty darn sexy in all your photos. You have this mischievous smirk about you that is a big turn on. And the hair looks great too! aww thanks! I wear my hair straight most days since it's naturally straight and fine. I can get it a lil wavy but curly is not an option. I'd looove to have some lush curls like missjaclyn, but that will never be But in reference to her original question about how you style yourself creating a difference in attention, I've found it doesn't matter whether I wear my hair straight wavy, in a ponytail, or whether I have full makeup or no makeup, a skirt on or sweatpants. I get treated the same anywhere I go. Which I think is good. I would feel strange if I got tons of attention when I looked nice then suddenly got ignored when I didn't look as nice.

Phoe Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I'm amazed at the amount of votes for straight hair! I thought guys loved lush sexy curls.
TheGuard13 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 In my experience, most guys like longer hair, period. Straight OR curly, "Sex hair" is the best though. Mussed. Mmmm. 2
Shepp Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Cant lie i'll check out a girl with like long hair with a kinda 'loose curl', (is that what you call it?) more than with any other hair style - Cheryl cole does it well...thou saying that id check out Cheryl cole with any hairstyle. But with my gf she'll do her hair like that when shes working or going out and yeah she looks gorgeous, totally, but I actually think she looks most beautiful when she does the old messy bun. I find the messy bun, no make up and hoodie look very sexy on my girl but with most Cheryl cole long curls does it for me. Straightened hair doesn't do owt special for me - I don't not like it, I wouldn't not date a girl because of it, it just doesn't do anything special for me. Edited August 21, 2013 by Shepp
tbf Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Certain hairstyles will garner greater attention, where certainty is reliant on which hairstyle suits the respective individual and also, what the hairstyle is opining about the person. The more sexy the hair style, the greater the attention from the other person. But as well, the more hot you feel, the more this will be evident in body language and facial expressions. In order to notice that men are more attracted, you will have had to be scoping for the attention. So it's part style, part internal confidence level, need and perception, being pushed outwards to others. Someone hunched over in body language with a grumpy facial expression, focused inwards, isn't going to get the same attention as someone walking along with open facial expressions and body language, actively scoping for attention. 1

I totally disagree though. I am a confident woman all the time. But, with the mister gone, I have definitely sort of been keeping inside my shell. No eye contact with people unless I am purchasing something, headphones in, generally in my own little world, and I don't really LIKE to be bothered. But, when men are coming up to you constantly and making u-turns in their cars to ask if you need a ride it is hard NOT to notice. 1
Red Wolverine Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Women, do you find you get checked out more depending on how JUST your hair is? Men, do you notice women with certain hairstyles more than others? Absolutely. I'm not supposed to discuss my Kryptonite hair anymore here but the thread is specifically addressing hair so I'm sure it's ok. My hair is naturally red, straight, and long. If my hair is up in a ponytail, I'll get polite smiles and interactions. Down and it's a different world. I think most men like long hair but I also think it's the way long hair falls around a woman's face, neck, and shoulders that makes it sexy. Short hair looks very nice on some women but it seems long hair is associated with femininity more. I notice the same reactions with clothes. Anything casual is run of the mill yet when I'm in a dress or skirt with heels, it's much more apparent. My hair is typically down in those situations but it's still a noticeable difference. Hair, legs, and a nice meal will win men over. 1
Betterthanthis13 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I found this interesting and was curious if women notice it too, and if certain men admit that one hairstyle draws them over another. I have curly hair, check out my photos and the wild woman curls are all natural. Sure, I get noticed, hit on, but the other day I straightened my hair. I then did large soft curls at the ends, and I won't lie, it looks pretty awesome. That being said, the amount of times I have caught men double taking, or checking me out, or approaching me has been inordinate. I really don't think I look much different, I don't wear makeup ever, so it wasn't like I was all done up. All I did was change my hairstyle and BAM! Men were stumbling, transfixed on me. It really made me laugh, even my boyfriend asked why I didn't do my hair like that more often. Course, it also takes me 3 or so hours to get it to look like this, so I honestly rarely do it. Women, do you find you get checked out more depending on how JUST your hair is? Men, do you notice women with certain hairstyles more than others? I have long-mostly straight, but a litlle wavy blond hair- I usually don't wear it down at work because I read somewhere a long time ago that men view long hair as a "sex flag".... Lol I do get a lot more male attention when I wear it down than up- so if I'm in a relationship I (mostly) wear it up in public and (mostly) down and sexy at home. Opposite for when I'm single. Bun and crazy hair at home, sex flag waving in public. Omg I crack myself up 1
mesmerized Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Hair is huge in attracting men. I have deff noticed that. That's why a lot of women get these glamorous hair extensions. Also, I have to say, if something as stupid as hair is so huge in attracting men, why shouldn't bigger deals like height would be for women?? Edited August 21, 2013 by mesmerized 2

Does height really matter when the man is behind you, yanking that long hair?

Author miss_jaclynrae Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 I can't resist.... Does height really matter when the man is behind you, yanking that long hair? Not then, but when I am standing next to him in my heels and he gets all "huffy" because I am a foot taller than him... it is annoying. I have no problem being with a shorter man, it is usually them that have the issue.
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I uploaded a hair album so y'all can see. I'm mixed-race and my hair is naturally super-duper curly; You will have to add ALL of us as contacts if you want us to see. 1
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I don't think this is taking the thread hostage, what about men...do the women of LS view a mans hair style/cut as more/less sexy? Do the men of LS wear their hair any differently in when in/out a LTR? For me, it's pretty much always the same. My hair grows fast plus I wear it kind of short, so I have to get it cut every 4+- weeks. I like it short on the sides and a tad longer on the top, with kind of a messy look on top. Not sure if that is my sexy look or not! And yes, I do use product, Aveda, but only once or twice a week!
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Done! Well, I made it public for a limited time. First pic is my fav!
KungFuJoe Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I gotta say...call me biased, but I think my wife has the most perfect hair I've ever seen or felt. Just the perfect amount of kinky curls without being too frizzy, fuzzy, or venturing into the "shirley temple" curl territory. I never forgot the first time I saw her playing with her hair as I was sitting in the back seat of a car with her riding shotgun. I wanted so bad to run my fingers through it. It's a bit shorter now than it used to be due to her having it done a certain way a while back but she's trying to grow it back out. But curly hair takes FOREVER to appear longer. 4
Star Gazer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I will add, a girl that can roll out of bed, take 5 mins to primp, and go, that is sexy too..the natural look! Eff that. I am straightening this sh*t right now... Got a second date in an hour! 3
veggirl Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 The WORST is dudes who are all "I love curly natural, wavy hair" when what they mean is a 1 hour blow out with Victoria Secret "curls". That's obviously the hair most men prefer, no contest. I've never met a woman who has that naturally. I have long, fine, wavy hair. If it dries naturally it looks wavy and frizzy. I straighten it or sleep in a braid so the waves are put together. I def get more attention when my hair is long and straight as opposed to the natural wavy. My hair, as naturally wavy/curly as it is, doesn't hold an artificial curl for s.hit, so the "beach waves" are not for me. 3

I know very few women that don't do anything to tame their hair and get that desired look. What's annoying is that the same men who only respond to that dolled up look whine about women taking long to get ready or being high maintenance. Make up your mind, what is it that you want? 1
