miss_jaclynrae Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I found this interesting and was curious if women notice it too, and if certain men admit that one hairstyle draws them over another. I have curly hair, check out my photos and the wild woman curls are all natural. Sure, I get noticed, hit on, but the other day I straightened my hair. I then did large soft curls at the ends, and I won't lie, it looks pretty awesome. That being said, the amount of times I have caught men double taking, or checking me out, or approaching me has been inordinate. I really don't think I look much different, I don't wear makeup ever, so it wasn't like I was all done up. All I did was change my hairstyle and BAM! Men were stumbling, transfixed on me. It really made me laugh, even my boyfriend asked why I didn't do my hair like that more often. Course, it also takes me 3 or so hours to get it to look like this, so I honestly rarely do it. Women, do you find you get checked out more depending on how JUST your hair is? Men, do you notice women with certain hairstyles more than others? 1
MrCastle Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I am a sucker for straight and wavy Those are the hairstyles I seem most drawn to. Nothing wrong with curly though. I know a lot of women are not naturally straight and it takes a lot of work to make it so, and I appreciate it. 1
Author miss_jaclynrae Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 No. I'm willing to look passed something so shallow as her hair at deeper aspect of her......like her face and body. Funny, not the way I saw that statement ending. I was expecting... oh IDK, personality, kindness, confidence? Silly me. 2

When I told the man that the reason why I didn't style it like that often when he was here was because it takes that long... his answer was: "Yeah, there is no way I would leave you alone for three hours." 1
Phoe Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I've personally found that my hair, makeup, and clothes make no difference no matter how I'm styled. It's all the same
MissBee Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) When my hair is pulled back, like in a bun, I get less looks than when I have it out and curled or straightened. I mentioned on here before that once I went to a store and my hair was pulled back. The sales guy helped me and was nice, but just in the regular, nice to customers, but still disinterested way. I went home, decided I didn't want the item and went back a few hours later, same clothes, same everything, except I took my hair down and the same guy who didn't even really look at me, was all smiles, flirting, told me I was pretty...I was like wow...it must be the hair lol. MomsSpaghetti Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Obviously hairstyle matters because the style of your hair frames your facial features for better or worse. I'm a dude and I look worse after just buzzing my hair today because a buzzed head with my forehead shape makes my ears and nose more prominent. Doesn't look good at all. Now I have to wait months for it to grow back.
ThaWholigan Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 This is kinda true - I do notice like the curls myself more than straight though!

Women, do you find you get checked out more depending on how JUST your hair is? Men, do you notice women with certain hairstyles more than others? First, wow, you are absolutley beautiful, lucky man! Second, I use to think I was attracted to curly kinky hair. Ex wife had it, one of the woamn I have date since did too. Tough to run your fingers thru though. Now, I don't think it really matters. Again, I go for the entire package. I met a woman last night siwht short straight black hair that was pulled back and I thought it was super sexy. I went out with a woman a few times recently with hair like yours, long, wavy, curly on the ends, and thought it was super sexy. Ex had straight hair, and when she would curl it all up I did not like it so much; she looked kind of trampy. I like to wear my hair a little spikey, not sure what it's called, I call it the messy spikey look. Some women love it, some women will pat it down and do a little push up at the front. I recently got it cut real short on the sides, almost a high and tight, and got lots of complements. My ex said I have a longer face, so though she liked the spikey look she thought I looked better with it flatter. So I guess woman have a preference too!
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I've personally found that my hair, makeup, and clothes make no difference no matter how I'm styled. It's all the same I think you look pretty darn sexy in all your photos. You have this mischievous smirk about you that is a big turn on. And the hair looks great too!

Yup, and I never thought about this until me exes comment about my face being longer, and that a longer spikey messy look on top made it look even longer. Still, I like it that way!
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I personally don't have any real preferance to hair styles... as long as it compliments your looks. I also find the same thing happens to me... when I let my hair get shaggy and grow out my side burns to thick bushy mutton chops I get hit on... when I cut my hair really short / normal I get hit on... However, ironiclly, when I get the World War II style (very short on the sides, short on top, combed over with gel) I get hit on the most! Women love a military man! One of my female friends was telling me this this weekend, she loves a man in a business suit or uniform..it's the power/dominance thing. Back to a womans hair now..... 1
sweetkiwi Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Being a hairstylist I can tell you hair matters A LOT. It frames your face and can "correct" overly round faces, long ones, even give the illusion of looking younger. Jaclyn the hair you gave yourself that day is the go-to sexy style for just about any woman. It's called "fhuck me" hair amongst hairstylists. Look at a majority of the celebrities. They have that hair. Luckily that's my natural hair. So I put oil in it and some curl enhancer and let it air dry. Usually I dry my bangs because weir stuff happens when I don't blowdry those. When I had short hair (18-24) I got plenty of guys commenting on it. Saying I looked like Pink. Many guys and girls thought I was a lesbian. My point is hair makes a big difference. Now with longer hair men notice me more. Which wasn't the idea but an observation. It's feminine. Makes my face look softer. And makes me look younger. OP if you're interested there are gentle relaxers out there that will relax the curl but not remove it. And because you're not changing the structure significantly it won't be damaging. Ask your hairstylist .
Southern Cal Dude Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 It matters a lot for men and women alike. Not all hairstyles look good, even if you have good facial features. In my case, I look good with long hair or buzzed to a 0. Anything in between looks horrible.
mercuryshadow Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Personally, I've been fighting with my hair texture for over 10 years. It's wavy, but unruly... so I straighten the hell out of it. The times I've let my hair go, or have curled it (it's easy to curl) I've gotten the best response from men. My fiancé prefers my natural texture. The problem is, a hairdresser has never taught me to work with my natural wave in such a way that it looks uniform, and not frizzy. If I could make my natural wave work for me, I'd love to...
man_in_the_box Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I definitely have a preference for straight or wavey.
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Although I'm not a military man, I do wear taylored suits or business casual... and with the short combed over hair I find it makes me look more professional / confident... so i see where you are coming from. Well, it's not "my" attraction, it's hers! In some of my previous LTRs, if I had to wear a suit for some reason, and they saw me in it, well, it was a fun day/night! I am attracted to a woman in a business suit, so I guess I get it. I am also attreacted to a woman in hippee clothes to...go figure. 1

Military uniform has never done anything for me. I've always been a 'fitted shirt and slacks on a guy' kind of girl..... Oh, right, hair.
thefooloftheyear Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Most women look better with their hair curled/blown out...Looking at the pics the OP looks really nice, IMO, with straight look..Looks very classy.,..Maybe just a better pic? Beautiful woman all the same...You could wear a football helmet and get attention.. TFY 1
darkmoon Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 my black curls never suited me, i could get away with them when young, now am blonde straight hair, my ****-me hair, add a bit of straightening and I'm done
Babolat Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Agreed, and the classy look is very sexy too! 1
Lansing Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 The last girl I dated straightened her hair. I wanted her to leave it just to see what it looked natually but she didn't want to. Recently we went to a beach and after a day out it started going to "natural" and I thought it looked really nice. She says it usually looks a lot worse than that though if she doesn't do anything with it. My personal preference is straight hair but I am more a "face" man than a "hair" person (except, I am not a fan of really tight curls).
Star Gazer Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I have naturally wavy-curly hair, but blow drying it tends to take most of the curl out, then I just tame the ends with a large curling iron. But if I take the time to actually straighten it, using a round brush and flat iron... Holy crap. EVERYONE notices and EVERYONE comments and looks at me with googly eyes. So strange.
