cici713 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I've read different things on here about initiating contact. This guy I've been dating was doing most of the initiating up until the last week. He has started a new job, and he says it's the most work he has ever done. He was texting me every morning to have a good day which was sweet. Now it's not happening. Is it because he is busy or he might not be interested anymore? I want to text him to ask him how his project is going today but I feel like I'm initiating too much lately.
MidwestUSA Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 How long have you been dating? Are you exclusive? If you really feel it's the job interfering with his communication, a text asking him how it's going, or even asking him out as a break from or a chance to tell you about his new job, doesn't seem out of line (to me). Have you sent texts that have gone unanswered?

Have you sent texts that have gone unanswered? It's been about a month. And we're not exclusive. He does respond back but lately it's been longer for him to respond.
Philosoraptor Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Do you feel like he's lost interest based on his responses? If not, then just continue to talk and get to know one another. Why is it so important who initiates the conversation?

That's probably due to the job then. A month isn't very long. I hate to say it, but he might do a slow fade, with the job as an excuse. Keep yourself busy, have fun. Time will tell.
Author cici713 Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 I guess I'm expecting the worse before it happens. I'm just expecting him to lose interest in me. I'm worried about sending too many messages to appear clingy or needy. Plus the whole idea that I might seem too available.
