smile1983 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 So I have this friend, well more of an acquaintance really, but he's been following my blog and commenting on it as I do this blog challenge where I answer questions about myself. So he made a comment on one of my blog posts that he'd really like to take me out. Well, I'm not really attracted to him physically but I did not want to embarrass him, so I private messaged him on facebook that I was flattered but I really wasn't physically attracted to him and I felt like I'd be leading him on. I just wonder if I did the right thing? Is there ever an instance where you're not physically attracted to someone at all but then you grow to be after a period of dating them?
New User Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I tend to doubt that a lack of attraction changes over time. Oh, and protip: When you told him that you "really weren't physically attracted to him and I felt like I'd be leading him on," he read that as "sorry dude, you're too ugly for me to date." Next time a guy you aren't attracted to asks you out, just say you that you are flattered but you aren't interested and leave it at that- especially if you're trying not to embarrass the guy. 3
Miss_raptor Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 You did the right thing by not leading him on. I would have kept it vague about why, but at least you don't seem to be sending mixed signals.
