headinthecloud Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 A month after our breakup I broke NC and sent him an email asking him to return my house key as I hadn't received it. I had sent him his key along with a self-addressed enveloped and money to return my key. He replied to my email and apologized for taking so long and that he would send it the next day. It's been more than a week and still no key. He hasn't made any attempts to contact me either. He's moved on, I understand, and I am as well but I still love him. I don't want to contact him but at the same time I'm hurt that he hasn't made any effort to return my key. We ended amicably so I'm not sure why he's not making any effort. I don't know what to do. I want to email him one last time to tell him that if he's not planning to return the key to just let me know and I'll leave him alone but that I'm disappointed because I thought we could be friends. I just don't understand why he would not send me my key. I don't know if it's pure laziness or something else. Should I email him one last time or just let it be and change the locks?
tbf Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Either change the locks which takes five minutes or have a locksmith rekey the locks.
Author headinthecloud Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Change the locks. Leave him alone. Ok, I'll change the locks. But I don't know why would he do this to me - he was such a good guy to so many people. I'll leave him alone but I'm curious, why is leaving him alone the best thing to do?

He is not making any effort because you are the past. You honestly don't want to be friends. Deep down, you don't want that, and he probably doesn't either currently. What you can do is move forward, continue NC, and don't dwell.
Author headinthecloud Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks for the feedback. I'm moving on. NC and changing locks.
