Leigh 87 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Well. You know how I am about travelling lol. Been obsessed with it since I can remember. I have been around the US, but personally, European culture and architecture is far more enjoyable than American. Or Canadian; too similar to here in Aus. Going to Europe and making a good go of it BEFORE kids would be ideal, in my opinion! You just get to experience things that enrich your life significantly even long after you return. I actually think it is REALLY valuable for kids to travel overseas. At least once. I did growing up and it changed me for the better. Um..... Actually, travelling single is also great - there are some amazing women from different countries you could possibly meet:lmao: Although make sure to check the cultural differences, as some cultures especially value being stay at home mums. And yes, in Australia it is very common for even students to travel with the money they all get from their part time jobs, which more often than not, they all have. SO many students have already been to Europe.

Especially if you won't have a trusted family member available to watch your kids. My husband would've said the same thing before kids. But when they were born, it activated a very protective part of him. You hear horror stories with hidden cameras showing babysitters beating kids and throwing them on the floor. The Upper West Side nanny that murdered two kids. Babysitters leaving kids in hot cars. Day care centers doping them up with benadryl. You might realize that no one can take care of your kids better than you and your wife. Especially when they are little and can't tell you whats going on. Edited August 15, 2013 by Quiet Storm 1
