My best friend (female) will turn 30 on saturday.

I think she deserves the world - not only she's one of the best people I know, but she's also been through a lot this last year - her mother passed away, her boyfriend broke up with her - and I think she deserves a really nice present.

Doesn't have to be very expensive - I can spend up to 50 euros - but I wanted something meaningful...it's her 30's, after all, and she's the best :)

I thought a SPA massage, or a beautiful necklace, or a good book...I don't know, maybe something more meaningful, but what? I really don't have much imagination, or time, because I work until very late so it has to be something rather easy to find.

Ideas?

Thanks :)

something that won't rot, a keepsake

Spend part of the birthday together doing something together with her. Give her something definite to look forward to. Create new memories together.

Or... Lots of little gifts throughout her birthday. Gift she wouldn't do or get for herself. Make them unique to her. Make her find them in a mini-scavenger hunt. That will create an experience she'll remember long after.

This is a great idea.

For my close friend's recent 50th, I went to a 99-cent store as well as a thrift store and sent her a box of 20-or so gifts that all made me think of her. She had more fun opening the box of silly stuff - from Angry Bird gummy candy to Post-It note pads with Einstein sayings on them to Japanese brain teasers. A small tea cup and some herb tea... She gloated about it on FB for a week how I got her the most memorable birthday box and that I "got" her...
