So I am guy. Supervisor is a woman. She sits next to my other supervisor, another woman, both in their 20s. They seem close.

The hints I get are the random questions and comments she makes:

Questions she has randomly asked over the past few months:

How old are you?

Are you married?

Do you want kids?

Oh you're left handed? Interesting....

I catch her staring at me from time to time.

We had a company picnic two weekends ago. I arrived and ran into her and her daughter (who is about 5 years old I'd say). She IMMEDIATELY introduced me to her daughter as soon as she saw me. Later I was tossing a softball around and turned to look at her and pretended to toss her the ball and she gave me a big smile and we locked eyes for a bit.

I make her laugh.

No physical contact yet.

She has made one attempt to "improve me" by suggesting she thinks i should get a cat. (another random comment)

I'm pretty sure that if she likes me, my other supervisor clearly knows it.

I mean for sure I'd ask her out immediately to find out ...if it wasn't for the fact that shes my boss...so I hesitate.

So, questions for the board...

1. Does she like me?

2. am i pretty much fired at this point no matter what happens? (I figure either this works out and we start dating, or we date and it falls apart and im gone, or she loses interest before we date and im gone)

Job is not in my field but i kinda need it to survive. I do have a second job but its spotty work.

I would say so. Sounds like the kind of questions I'd ask a guy I'm interested in, while trying not to be too obvious.

I'd be veeeery careful about dating her though. If sh*t hits the fan, you'll be out of a job.

It's possible. Those are weird things to ask an employee just for the heck of it.

Just keep things professional on your end no matter what she does. She can't fire you for no reason.

If it turns out she does like you and you two do date, keep the relationship professional at the office and all should be well.
