Though now, it may seem like it isn't so. Just don't let it depress you. Stay active. Go out, and live your life as you should.
jenn78 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 i'm currently getting over my first love. We've been broken up for about a month and a half. its been a long journey that is no where near over. I think you will always hold a special place in your heart for everyone that you love especially if things ended not for a negative reason (ie. abusive, cheating etc). You will be able to move on one day. You have to let go of the hope that something will happen again and not contact them or check in on them in order for you to fully start moving on. 1
SincereOnlineGuy Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 If you didn't always hold a special spot in your heart for such a person, then you wouldn't be qualified to entertain love on any level beyond what a 9yo boy feels for his favorite football team. The reality is, that it isn't so much him/her which you see as being so special. Instead it is your own personal investment IN him which you value so much. And that part commands your respect for all eternity (as it never admires another woman's butt, and never even argues with you). Not to mention that the greatest single ingredient to that and all future loves you're ever gonna have, is that continuously-building personal investment you are making in that (then-current) partner . 1
Waynester Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Everybody is different, but for me personally.. yes, I eventually got over the pain of lost first love, but...you never forget. My feelings of 'having lost' have been replaced with great memories. Memories that will make you smile, no matter how many years pass. Equally though, first love by definition means...'new loves' will follow, which will lead eventually to 'the one!' But...you never forget your first.
