SmithJ Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Hi, I usually post in the break up thread so you might or might not be familiar with my story (if not you can see my thread) Ex broke up with me 7 weeks ago and moved over 2 hours away (back to his hometown) after 2 weeks NC we began texting, just chit chat me always initiating and thinking it would lead somewhere else. It didn't. I got so frustrated with this I decided to go no contact. After a few days I'd get messages like 'hope you're okay' 'I've unblocked you from facebook' 'how was your day' 'you seemed moved on' 'are you seeing someone else' I ignored all of these messages and then last week I got 'Sorry if this is inappropriate but I love and miss you so much, I cant imagine being with anyone else. Please can we meet up to talk, I'll drive all the way to you, I can come whenever you want, even after work one night. I miss you loads' So I replied saying I needed time and that he's hurt me by leaving me. I'm worried that I'll agree to meet him but then he will back out, let me down or make an excuse to not turn up. I want to see him but I'm scared he'll let me down again, when he left it really hurt me. Any advice?

He may be serious, he may be looking for relief from any guilt, or may want comfort as he just moved quite a large distance. But yes, there have been many threads here about setting up a meeting and the ex not showing or being a complete douche (only trying to get laid) after sounding so sweet and sincere on the phone.

He has moved back with his family and friends so he should be comforted a lot but he might just want comfort from a woman who'll be there. I've been very cold on him recently maybe he just panicked as he may have thought I'd moved on. I thought about the booty call thing but then thought 'why would he take an almost 6 hour round trip' for that when he doesn't know if I definitely will put out. He's a good looking guy though, he could easily get it anywhere. I just feel really anxious about the whole thing. I'm scared to give him the option of hurting me again. Thanks for your response, just don't know what's for the best, I don't want to pass up an opportunity and regret it later on. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and see him
