This is going to sound bizzare.

I am reasonably sure the one I wrote about here under the letter M called me. Then lost their nerve in the light of day.

The story:

I got a phone call from a phone number I did not recognize all of where the voice on the end left a message asking if I was going to be around for a while. Sounded like whoever it was was with a group of people.

So I sent a text.

Then today I called it and left a message. They called back. Definately a woman's voice though the voice sounded more like a mans in the original message from them.

I did a reverse 411 and it was from the same part of the city that M lived in, at least the address the phone is registered to is in that area. I didn't pay the $$ to be sure.

M and I both had the ability to do imitations, pretty good ones. It was one of the ways we would entertain eachother. I didn't recognize the number because while I had it once I deleted it.

I would have been all :bunny: if they had been willing to have a discussion. As it stands I am kinda  and  about it. I am :o to say I'd kinda like to have them back in my life.

What if anything would one of you do with this?

I don't answer unidentified or unidentifiable calls. They're routed to VM and if they still aren't identifiable, delete message and continue ignoring. If they're persistent, the number's blocked.

I have an ex who has stalked me on and off for about 7 years.

He frequently calls from different numbers, disguises his voice, or has friends call for him.

I continue to ignore it, but it hasn't done much good. 7 years later and the guy just will not quit.

Funny thing is they called it off with me, asked for NC and I gave it to them. Other than a couple of absent minded emails that got no reply from them I haven't broken NC.

I can't call them a stalker. They perhaps just don't really know what they want in relation to me.

I think I will ignore anything but a really frank attempt to have a real conversation about things.

I think you're walking down a dangerous road.

This person told you they wanted no contact with you. You still sent emails. Now you are extrapolating things about that person because of an anonymous call.

If they want to contact you, they know how to do it. If they're pranking you, that's mean spirited, but it does not signal an interest in having a relationship of any kind.

I think, from your previous posts about the situation with this person and your school / work environment, that you are best to just steer clear completely.

Not anonymous, listening to the voice message left when they may have been drunk it certainly sounds like them. A prank call would have a jokey quality to it. It feels more like a drunk dial.

Oh and I graduated from that school.

Well, that may be

I'm 100% sure now. I have an app on my phone, by Facebook, it's their messenger app for Android, which matches FB contacts to phone contacts and Emails automatically. So when you text someone it will match their number to their FB (same with their emails). That app matched the number to her FB contact. So it is not a question of who called. It has been objectively settled by technology.

… but it makes no difference whatsoever. If she wanted to contact you, she knows how. I hope you soon leave this situation 100% behind you, for your own best interests.

I know that intellectually. It would always be very hard to make it work between us. We would need to make a very conscious effort to be sensitive to our different perspectives due to age and culture. We would each have to work on our internal issues surrounding relationships. It may be too much.

My heart, right now still says, it could be worth a try...if and only if they made a frank adult effort to at least talk about the issues. Saving that I am done.
