ryan89 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Long story short, I've been chatting with this girl I met at an activity I take part in a few weeks ago. She then just left for vacation and we were chatting throughout the vacation. A few days after she came back, I asked her out, and got the dreaded "Not to sound like a *****, but I am kinda seeing/talking to someone right now." Now, usually I would just break it off right then and there. However, I will always see this girl at least once a week through the activity that I do, and I want us to still be friends. She also has a very likable personality and I do enjoy her company. What is the best way to approach this situation and respond to her? If she did become available I would be open to seeing her, but the way it sounded to me it came across as "I'm not interested, sorry!" so I don't think that's very likely IMO. Advice? Cheers!
Philosoraptor Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Respect the fact that she is off limits right now and do nothing? She responded and knows you are interested. If she becomes available and wants to date you, she will make it known. No need to keep pursuing someone who is off the market at best, and at worst trying to be "polite" and not reject you directly.
