sad123 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Hi guys can you help me with this? I was dating this guy for about 6 months. Because of a past break-up it was hard for him to express his feelings for me. So, as a joke I would bother him and tell him that before we hang up or leave each other he would have to say something nice. Well, one night we were on the phone and it was time for us to get off. So, I asked him...what do you say? Thinking he was going to say something simple, he blurted out "I love you". There was a momment of silence on the phone and I was to surprised to say anything. I wasn't expecting something like that. However, before I could respond he was like "ha-ha...I was only joking". I proceeded to tell him that saying "I love you" shouldn't be just thrown around like that. From then on he would always say, "I won't you just tell me...you love me?" I was scared to tell him that I loved him and I still do. We still talk however, we are not dating nor are we friends. It's been 9 months since we have broken up. My question is...did he really love me or was he really joking?

You arent friends, nor are you dating? Why should it matter what he thought? If it did it sounds like he was tying to feel you out. It was his way of seeing what your reaction was. I dont think he loved you though.

avsguy01 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Like maybe trying to see where you stood with your emotions towards him.
