MrTurk Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Some of you may have heard earlier this year, the story of how a college basketball coach took a supermodel to Taco Bell on their first date. The coach Andy Enfield, not being familiar with the Queens area, figured there would be some restaurants open around the campus area. Nothing was open except Taco Bell at the time. The woman with him was supermodel Amanda Marcum. Now the above details arent really all that important. What I am interested in....is how many women reacted when this story came out. All the women broadcasters, and talk show hosts, and such....all reacted like "Awww how cute is that". Yea...it sounds cute a fuzzy, and makes for a good story...but give me a break...the guys on here know damn well that most women wouldnt even get out of the car if you drove them to Taco Bell on a first date.
veggirl Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 lol well yeah they are reacting that way cause it's like "oh look the supermodel and rich coach are just like us", it's like endearing or something when famous/rich people do regular people **** I guess. or they think the cluelessness of the coach was endearing/cute. 2
Star Gazer Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 One of the best dates I ever went on was to Denny's (after another event).
Author MrTurk Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 One of the best dates I ever went on was to Denny's (after another event). Dennys is high class....I bet you felt under dressed You get my point though....if a guy said lets go to Taco Bell....most women would be thinking "oh hell no"

carhill Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 The power of appearances and charisma to warp perception.
thefooloftheyear Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Maybe he wanted to debunk the long held myth that women never fart, what better to do it with a Supermodel. TFY 7

Im assuming Queens NYC? If thats the case, then I gotta wonder if its all some kind of publicity stunt..I grew up in the Bronx and know NYC very well..You dont have to look very far for a good restaurant..Heck you can eat better than any place on the planet at 3 AM...Especially in Manhattan..Take a cab there and walk a few blocks...problem solved....(shrug).. TFY
thefooloftheyear Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I had to look her up. She is kind of trashy looking. I could see her at a Taco Bell two in the morning strung up on coke. Cmon dude, really? There isnt a guy on this site that wouldnt drag his balls over a hundred yards of broken glass for 5 minutes with that... Carry on TFY

My last boyfriend took me to Taco Bell on our first date. I got myself a quesadilla, we ate, chatted, went for a walk. There's no reason to be taken any place fancy. We had a nice time and that's all that matters. 2

Imported Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Dennys is high class....I bet you felt under dressed You get my point though....if a guy said lets go to Taco Bell....most women would be thinking "oh hell no" I doubt that guy had any intention of taking her to Taco Bell. Probably got all dressed up nice and fancy and was going to ....some place better than Taco Bell. But everything was closed. You can still work with this. Keep everything upbeat, be positive. Anything can be made fun with the right attitude. The girl knew he can afford far better and was trying to do so, but there was no choice. I am sure she realized he makes $$$. Things will be overlooked. And that first date at Taco Bell was not an indication that that was all that guy has to offer, I am sure she already knows his net worth. This was not an average dude asking an attractive girl out to Taco Bell.....of course that will fail. 9 times out of 10........ +/- 10

Do I think most girls would be okay with being picked up and taken to Taco Bell for the date? As in, intended? No. 1
Imported Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) My last boyfriend took me to Taco Bell on our first date. I got myself a quesadilla, we ate, chatted, went for a walk. There's no reason to be taken any place fancy. We had a nice time and that's all that matters. You're too easy. I would have been OK buying you a Nachos Bel-grande. Maybe even a Taco Supreme as well if you're real nice. But only a small soda. Refills are free! Damn it! Now I feel like going to taco Bell@@!!! Edited July 29, 2013 by Imported 2
thefooloftheyear Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Yeah, well you can count me out of that "statistic". Yeah, right...Im suuuuuuure you wouid send that packing... TFY
Author MrTurk Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Right. Do I think most girls would be okay with being picked up and taken to Taco Bell for the date? As in, intended? No. I just dont believe it would be OK for most women either way. I think a lot of them would just lie and say "Oh its OK, I'm not really hungry anyways"
Phoe Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 You're too easy.! I'm not "easy". I'm just not difficult. Simple is good. I just see no reason for a first date to be at some nice fancy place. I went out with him to get to know him. Not so he could spend is money on food for me. I got to know him and spend time with him just as well eating at Taco Bell as I would've at a nice dine in restaurant. 7
Pompeii Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Yeah, right...Im suuuuuuure you wouid send that packing... TFY Yeah.......... I don't find her attractive.
Els Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Funny thing is that Mexican food is expensive and posh here. It's where people go for celebratory dinners sometimes. Ah, culture... 2
Emilia Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Yea...it sounds cute a fuzzy, and makes for a good story...but give me a break...the guys on here know damn well that most women wouldnt even get out of the car if you drove them to Taco Bell on a first date. Well I wouldn't be in his car in the first place, I would be making my own way there. If I didn't like the idea of Taco Bell I would suggest something else. Not all women are the same. 3
Emilia Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Traditionally on a date you go together or if you are together you take the same transportation. we don't live in the 50s anymore 3
Robert Z Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 It is funny you use the 50's to slander what you believe to be backwards thinking. The 50's were when the civil rights movement was most active which led to today an Arab woman being able to be in a relationship with a black man in relative peace. For shame Emilia. For shame. I think you mean the 60s. 1
Robert Z Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 On our first date [my ex and I] I ran out and got take-out Chinese and then served it all on dishes as if I had made it. At first she was sooooo impressed... until I showed her the boxes. 1

Yeah wouldn't work for me as I don't eat fast food and I don't eat meat. So not a lot at Taco Bell that would appeal to me. I don't need expensive, I just want thought put into it. But I think I would be fine with Panera depending on the nature of the date. I don't think I would kick him to the curb. 1
