leon23 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 So after months of not talking to one another- we have a working relationship but don't see eachother or work in the same office. I cc'd him on a routine work email last week and he emails me back saying "Hi Alice! Hope you're doing well and going somewhere fun this weekend! Really? Why the hell would he now all of the sudden send me this message randomly? I expected him not to reply at all as it was just a cc and I've received work emails before and there was no small talk. I'm mad because I was trying to cope and move on but all I can think about is this stupid email and his motivation behind it.

Author leon23 Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Guess I should provide some background...we were never BF/GF our timing was completely off b/c we have a working relationship we always skirted around the idea of making things official. Last year, I hadn't seen him all summer of 2012 and when we saw each other out he told me was seeing someone, we finally discussed our feelings and told each other how we felt. He told me that he regretted his decision and left an open door saying we would probably pick things up in the future. On and off throughout the last seven months when we've emailed for work he'll occassionally ask me how I'm doing but I haven't replied back. Nor have I asked him how he's doing. So this was unexpected as I've made sure to keep things professional... He's older (40's) and has never been in relationship for more than a year...well his 1 year is up this month w/ current gf.
