pink_sugar Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I think we'd all be engineers if it were that simple, lol. Usually if you're really outgoing, people can make bank in sales as an independent contractor. My dad's ex wants to be making half a mil as a financial adviser. In just a few year's she's already making 150k. No doubt she'll make it happen since she works nonstop! 2
HoneyBadgerDontCare Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 This article is false. I have several family members that work in the engineering field. One of my uncles, an executive, makes about 150k and he's in his 50s. He didn't always make that much. I have heard of people making 200k-300k, but they are highly specialized and it takes them a long time to get that much. 2
tbf Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 "It's an all out war for talent," said Houston-based Gladney Darroh, president of Piper-Morgan Associates Personnel Consultants, a specialist in recruiting oil and gas engineers. "Right now the hardest individuals to recruit are people who have anywhere from five to 15 years of experience. That's a real sweet spot right now," he said. The article's very clear on specialized field within Chem and Pete Engineering.
BeckyFontenot Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Hmmm...I'm not an engineer and I make a lot of money. In fact, there are many fields a person can enter that you can make a lot of money in. Strange thread. LOL
