Hello all

So, the very last thing I have to do is delete his sister-in-law on FB. So far, he has never posted on her wall (he's not big on FB) and nothing has ever come up in my newsfeed, so it's not been a big issue. But I still feel conscious that it's the last thread I need to cut.

What is holding me back is the explanatory email to her - on the one hand, it seems really rude just to delete her. She is absolutely lovely, and we have emailed a lot in the past, so I think just deleting her and saying nothing is rude. But on the other hand, I REALLY don't want to send an email that makes me sound like I'm a teenager! Argh. So I keep putting it off, and I keep knowing I need to do it, before she does post something like, "Having loads of fun in the sun with Nick and his new lady".

What would you do? Email or just delete? And if I email, is the below polite without being melodramatic? Thanks guys!

Hello lovely

Hope you are good. I'm sure you'll understand, but I've had to take you off FB – I just don't want to see anything to do with Nick pop up in mynewsfeed by mistake, as it would upset me too much. I won't say anything else, because of course that's for him to do if he wants to, but I will say that I always had lots of fun with you and Dan, and I'm very sorry we won't all get to do that again. If you ever want any help with your idea on [business] or anything else, please do email me any time. Sorry, I really hope this doesn't come across as rude, and I hope you understand.

Lots of love and all best wishes,
