Those out of the blue messages

Just got donw at the gym today. Get home, check my phone....there are 2 text messages from a woman I talked to(never met) from the dating site I was on like 4-5 mos ago.

 

She said something like...."Wonder what ever happened to that nice guy that never responded back to my texts Maybe it means he found someone else and is enjoying himself"

 

Now I know for a fact I never ignored her texts, or anyone else's texts, phone calls, or emails....ever in my life. Even if I'm not interested....I tell the person. Now maybe there is that slim chance something happened, a communication error, and my last text never went through. But I highly doubt it.

 

We talked on the phone a few times, and texted off and on, but never made it to face to face. And I remember sending her two texts, that went unanswered.

 

So I replied to her..."As far as I recall...I contacted you last Maybe you were the one that found someone, then it didnt work out, and now I'm the main guy again"

 

She replies..."Ah, I remember that too, I am kinda guilty. I was deleting old texts and came across yours....but I swear I sent you the last message saying I was busy that weekend, and I thought you got annoyed"

 

This is the crap that I cant stand....the back and forth bs...but most people just go along with it....some even relish in it as part of the process. And who the hell keeps their text messages for that many months back???

Set something concrete. Ask her on a date. Then you'll know if she's for real or not.

Well, I assume most people have smart phones these days, with a near infinite amount of memory (as far as text messages go, which take up hardly any space). Keeping old messages takes far less effort than deleting them. I personally almost never go through my phone to delete old messages. Why bother? The old, unused, conversations drop to the bottom so I never see them anyway.
