Madman81 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 My goal physique is Harrison Ford circa 1984 (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). He looked fairly slim but not emaciated; had some muscle definition but nothing too crazy. Still had a bit of padding on him but not too much. I'm about the same height and broad-shouldered, as he is, and the same age as he was then. So presumably it's doable. After about six months with minimal exercise and eating horribly, I decided two weeks ago to change things. Started eating low carb, doing an Atikins/Anabolic Diet-type thing (it worked wonders for me when I did it ten years ago), and getting a lot more exercise. Focusing on fat burning right now so the empasis is cardio. Will be incorporating more and more strength training to bulk up somewhat. The impetus for this was stepping on a scale and seeing "237 lbs" on my 6'1" frame. Plus some tightening of my clothes. Obviously I want to be healthier, have more strength and endurance, and have a reasonable chance at a long life. Also I've been doing karate for the last 3.5 years, and I can only imagine how much easier that'll be if I'm stronger, have greater cardiovascular endurance, and am trying to do jump kicks without an extra 35-40 lbs to throw around. Five pounds gone in the first two weeks, so things seem to be on track...
Emilia Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 So presumably it's doable. He was certainly doable.
ThaWholigan Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Goal physique - not sure really. I really like David Haye's physique, he's also a similar height to me too. I think either his or Michael Jai White's physique would suit my body shape. I do really need a more comprehensive plan to get there. Compound lifts and bodyweight stuff. I need to get myself a barbell and do more about my diet. Less bread and white rice, more vegetables and fish. Some martial arts ala White. Also I need a cardio regime - I have to admit, I don't really like running in front of people , but I do need to man up and do it.
Madman81 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He was certainly doable. Yeah, I walked into that one... 1

He was not overly built and not too ripped compared to being a stick in Raiders. he had a great physique in that film and its definitely an achievable goal.
MercuryMorrison1 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I'm working towards something like Ryan Reynolds, Lean and cut with great definition but not over built. I'm 6,1 and currently at about 200 lbs. My goal is about 180 lbs of mostly lean, shouldn't take to long to knock out that last 20 lbs, I've totally revamped my diet and work out six days a week for one to two hours a day haha. Hard work, but well worth it!

todreaminblue Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 i think to aim for peak physical and mental fitness for anyone is a good idea.......more about how you feel in the skin you are in rather than how you look in the skin you are in........ because if you feel good in your own skin.....what you look like or what your body type is...becomes unimportant...you just feel good...and that is what you project....feel good vibes.....rather than just muscle def........deb 1
joshwatson1 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks a lot friends for sharing your useful opinions and views it would be very helpful for newbies like me.
Maleficent Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 For both men and women, do you have a goal physique that perhaps inspires you when you work out? my goal is a physique similar to Daniel Craig's in Skyfall. I say similar because obviously i could never have that EXACT physique but my goal is to gain at least 15 more pounds from where i currently am (167 pounds with %13 BF). http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/4474/p0xp.jpg I agree! That picture is yummy!
farva2 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Pretty satisfied with how I look these days, there's always room for improvement but as long as I can still see my abs and my vascularity is decent then I'm a happy camper.
