For both men and women, do you have a goal physique that perhaps inspires you when you work out? my goal is a physique similar to Daniel Craig's in Skyfall. I say similar because obviously i could never have that EXACT physique but my goal is to gain at least 15 more pounds from where i currently am (167 pounds with %13 BF).

I've got a couple of friends who go to the same gym as I who have some great physiques. Seeing that in person every time you go in can definitely be motivating.

Other than that seeing YOURSELF improve is the most motivating thing of all when it comes to physique goals (in my opinion).

On that note: I think it's good to realize that you will never look like anyone else. Strive to be the best possible "you". It's ok to use someone else's physique as a template, but realize that you, as an individual, may look completely different, even at similar muscularity/bodyfat levels.

yeah i totally agree, that's why i specified a "similar" physique and not HIS physique.

Well, in that case, if I could snap my fingers and look like anyone, I'd say Rich Froning or Elliot Hulse.

I'm currently closer to Froning than Hulse, haha, but somewhere around there is pretty cool, in my opinion.

Not that pro-level bodybuilders aren't impressive to look at, but I just don't see myself ever actually wanting to look like that.

I want to be shredded, big, and aesthetic. I am currently 168 lbs right now, shredded. I am looking to get to 200, shredded. I will achieve it by the time I finish college.

The two people I saw in person that impressed me the most was Lou Ferrigno(from the Hulk days)..This guy was a beast(still is!)...I was so in awe of this guys size and symmetry...Some may say he was too overbuilt, but if you saw him in person he carried it well...Very tall..

The other guy I saw was more recent(at an MMA event)..Alistair Overeem..Huge guy, but a "pretty" physique..Strikingly good looking guy as well...Im as hetero as they come, but good looking is good looking..Women were falling over themselves for this guy...It was annoying as hell..

La Ron Landry has a seriously good physique as well.

At only 5'6" ill never achieve that type of massiveness and I am old..But I am pretty big and dont have any glaring weaknesses..Ill take it at this point..Most guys my age cant do shyt and look like hell...

I used to be very happy with my physique but no longer. Upper body wise I am still pretty happy but my lower body is not on the same level. Partly genetics but mostly do to a history of bad training focus and later in life some injuries. Hey we guys can be lazy and hide behind board shorts. Actually my GF physique inspires me. I am speaking about her legs and butt. Rock hard and super strong. When it comes to muscle development if you put my upper body with her lower body I would be rockn.

Jessica Biel.

But apparently no amount of squats will ever quite get me that rear. :(

I personally like the build of actor Micheal C hall (Dexter) and would love to look like that.

I'm not sure what I can aim for personally, I am very much an ectomorph.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a hero of mine. I idolise him and his body building career. I don't think he is particularly attractive nor will I ever be his size, but I like his attitude towards it.

I think I'm good where I'm at now, though I may have gained too much weight over the past year...

I don't have a goal physique but I need more of these. My ordinary gym doesn't have it which is annoying as it's such a simple equipment.

My stomach is pretty flat though. Lost some weight from being over in the sandbox. I figure some well placed ab exercises might help me along.

Yeah, not every gym is blessed with a GHR.

If you have any cable stacks, you might try high rep cable pull throughs.

I usually shoot for sets of 30 and focus on getting a good stretch at the "bottom" of the movement in my hamstrings/glutes. They feel like they don't do much at first, but you'll feel it the next day...

I'm looking to switch gyms anyways so hoping to find one with that bench.

Good idea, there are cable stacks yes

My experience is that while you need to get to a low enough bodyfat percentage to see abs, you can make your ab muscles "bigger", which will help them be visible sooner.

I love the ab wheel personally.

Ooooo!

I forgot to mention my new "favorite" ab/triceps exercise.

You need two suspension trainer handles, hung from overhead to a height where the handles are at around the same level as your belly button. Grab the handles and walk your feet back/lean forward until your body is at about a 45 degree (more or less) angle with the ground. From here, do what basically amounts to a skull-crusher with the handles (lower your body into where you extend your triceps to bring yourself back to the starting position).

Great triceps work with some added core stability work as well.

I could only open these two but I think the 'before' photo is strong and perhaps more natural looking than the 'after'
