Els Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I'm so over the moon I can't type straight. After living together for the past 2 years, I've finally been approved for residence (the equivalent of a green card here)!!!!!!!! :bunny::bunny: No more applying for temporary visas every year and wondering whether I'll get them. No more wondering if any change of policy will force us to live apart again. There's still a little more paperwork to be done before it's officiated, but that isn't going to detract from my happiness! I just want to go out and hug everyone I see! 24
LittleTiger Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Elswyth, that's awesome news! I am soooooo happy for you! :bunny: 1
Author Els Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks, guys!! I can't wait to finalize the process and send in my passport. Being the worrywart that I am, I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong between now and then...
Emilia Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Very pleased for you Els. Living on temporary visas sucks. 1
LittleTiger Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 .... I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong between now and then... Unless you're planning to rob a bank, I think you're pretty much sorted! 1

carhill Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Congratulations! I recall similar happiness with male friends who went through the K1 process with their now-spouses and how they felt about finally exiting the government gauntlet. Best of luck with your new life as a resident of that lovely little island country downunder. 1

I haven't forgotten how you used to help me with travel itineraries in a time long past.
