So, it's been a year since my ex boyfriend and I broke up, actually I think it's been a bit longer than a year (a few weeks?) and it's been a roller coaster. For about the first 6 months I wallowed in my pity and just wanted him back.

However, I'm finally starting to accept the fact that we are over. I'm ready to start moving on and start figuring my life out. I've already made small steps like applying to school at the local CC and starting to take better care of myself.

Sometimes I do miss him, but you know what? He wasn't the right one and I'll find the right one someday, it just wasn't him. Even if he was my first love.

That's a great attitude :). I'm still struggling after a year to get over my first love too (even though I ended it). It's reassuring to know there are others that aren't over their exes over a long period of time. You've got completely the right attitude accepting you sometimes still miss him but that they'll be someone better round the corner :). Good luck!
