Is he interested in me or just being friendly? Can't tell!

Recommended Posts

When a guy calls you gorgeous a couple of times when he sees you and gently touches you on the back or brushes his hand over your shoulders when you jokingly make a comment to him or he makes small talk with you does that mean he is flirting and interested in you?

Can't tell because have been told he has a naturally flirty personality! Have a big crush on him. But I don't flirt unless he does mostly to avoid awkwardness if he is just being friendly!

I would say yes - he is interested, but then you're saying he's a very flirty person so it may be tricky. He may still wait for you to bring the serious talk up, or as you said he just flirts...

Why don't you do it "his" way? Try to make a joke "oh you call me gorgeous one more time and I may think you're into me" or something like that - see what is his response then!

Ha ha! I don't know if I would have the guts to even do that! I get annoyed at myself when I don't touch him back when he touches me because I get nervous even doing that.

The week before I had lost my phone and he was helping me look he was calling me Miss (my name) and gorgeous as well. He came up close to me as we were walking out. Minus my phone and pulled me close to him and put his arm around me. I out my arm around him to for a few minutes. :-).

He asked me about my phone this week and I said it got found. I did luckily. Someone ended up handing it in. He mentioned noticing how calm I was trying to find it. Well. I just did not want to look bad in front of him that is why I looked calm. LoL. Joked how I was not on the inside.

Gave a hint to him that I am single by mentioning moving into my own place joked around calling it my Bachelorette Pad. I had that weekend was not lying.

He mentioned it was close to his area and said it was a good spot. I know cause I have lived there before. :-). Would that have hinted to a guy I was single?

Any more ways to flirt with someone without making it to obvious?

More opinions especially from guys would be appreciated!

It sounds like he does like you.

You could always ask if he could show you around the area since he's familiar with it.

Maybe nonchalantly ask him if he fancies a couple of drinks sometime "hey, fancy getting a couple of drinks sometime?"

The thing is, if you don't get productive then you'll have to wait for him to make the first move which will mean you sitting about being restless.

I just don't want things to get awkward in case he does say no.

So him breaking the touch barrier, complimenting me and giving me nicknames are good signs?

Are there signals I can give off that would give more hints to the guy I like him without making it look to obvious?

Any guys opinions would be great on this also.

If a girl said that to me, yes, I would have picked up the hint. The guy is definitely interested in you, but is he attracted? Interest and attraction are two separate things. Without more details, it's hard to say.

If one were to theorize the situation given the current data, I would say he's showing interest, but not enough to ask you out. Given that you stated that he's a "natural flirt", guys like him typically also flirt/touch other girls as well.

If I was a woman in this situation, I would not think too much about how to flirt back to this guy, but rather how I would make myself stand out from the rest of the women he's used to in his life.

Oh that's good! He seems like a smart guy so hope he does pick up on that. LoL.

I also remember him mentioning that there was a fair bit of Cafe's or shops around where I live. I did not pick it up at the time but was he hinting something to me as well.

I did not even suggest we hang out just replied with I know I love busy places they have things like that around the area. Maybe I should have?

Thanks I will keep that in mind.

Guys. Any tips on how to make myself stand out for the rest of the pack?

Have I hinted my interest in him enough?

You need to see his baseline way of acting. Then you need to see if the way he's with you is beyond his usual way of being.

I do notice he gets more touchy feely when we are alone. Yesterday I was with my friend and I walked to where the bar was notice him come up and start talking to me and then brush his hand across the back of me. Should have flirted a bit more then and touched him back but was feeling nervous trying to come up with something good to talk about. LoL.

Could also mean he does that with 5 other women he knows. Some guys are just a little fool of themselves....and they flirt like that to feed their own egos. Guys that are touchy like that with women they are not dating....usually means its a way of showing his dominance.

No different than the way politicians will shake another mans hand, and put his other hand on the guys shoulder, or give him a pat on the back....its a tried and true power play in the world of body language.

I like how this guy thinks !!!!

Pay attention honey you got some gold here you see he is interested

But is also easy on sweet talk and sprouting load of BS charm what he tells you and with such easy he could be doing with 5 other girls.

Tell him to lay it off and that you do not appreciate empty words and see what he does really interested man will start with "actions" and BS one will just move along to the one less naive ...

Totally off topic, but how exactly does such body language benefit those individuals in social situations? I don't see how anyone would think that they'd be able to "assert their dominance" over me by simply putting their hand on my shoulder. :lmao:

And if you'll entertain me, what would be the more dominant body language response to that? Taking their hand off with my own hand? What about ditching the body language and going verbal? Surely telling them not to touch me should suffice?
