lessica Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 So- some of you will already no-I lived with my ex for 7 years. Not a good relationship, and I was quite miserable and hurt in it. He left me two weeks ago. I cried two days before he moved out- once he was gone, nothing. No crying, didn't feel like crying, felt completely fine, pretty much happy. The first few days he was gone I would think "it's over" and that would make me feel a little unsettled for a few minutes- but I really had to think about it to cause it. Why am I not devastated? I have been with previous breakups. But not this one. Is it going to creep up on me at some point and make me feel depressed? I just don't get it.
Author lessica Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Good point, thanks. And yeah, I don't wonder if it was the calm before the storm, but I don't feel like I am in any state of shock- like I have thought about the situation a lot, and my emotions change throughout, just not in a way that upsets me.
JDPT Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 It may just be that you are truly relieved that you no longer have to deal with his inconsistencies that ultimately brought you so much heartache. 1
AllTooWell Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I think in some ways you are unsettled. You came here, after all. You've made threads about it. (Not insulting you, just pointing it out!) I think that you were a bit emotionally drained from your relationship and that may have closed off some of your emotions to the breakup even before it happened. 1
