L1ght Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Generally I just get on with my life now and have actually been sexually intimate with a few girls since my last serious relationship but I have to admit that even I sometimes fall into the pattern of comparing things to my ex be it trivial or significant. Its so annoying right? you can be sat in front of the TV minding your own business then BAMB! A commercial will remind you of the way she used to eat her food, brush her teeth, play with her hair, jump up and down when she listened to music...etc. This is an involuntary response and for some reason I keep getting caught out by it lately more often than I would like.....GO AWAY MEMORIES! I AM DOING MY BEST TO FORGET EVERYTHING. Edited July 16, 2013 by L1ght
Legatus Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I've got something similar. When I am walking with my friend I tend to say "oh that's where we used to go", and so on.. She doesn't get upset but I do just because it's silly. I do not get any feelings from it but I guess it's coming from the "routine" side of brain and it will be there until I replace it with something else. You will never ged rid of memories but you have to make new one. Once you find one particular girl you like, you will remember the way she plays with her hair. At the moment you still compare - I think it's normal. My opinion is it's not about the time but volume. Once you get used to other people it will fade away. I, for example, am sure that even if my next relationship comes after a year or something - I will still compare it to my ex, because time doesn't have impact here..
