thecrucible Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm seeing this guy. We may get intimate soon and there's a lot of sexual tension. Sent him a text saying I have a surprise for him when he gets back from holiday (where he's texting me from now). So he asks what the surprise is and I tell him he has to wait to find out, I say I wonder what thoughts are running through his head (meaning this as a sexual tease) and "I hope you have a surprise for me too". Then he responds with ":) xxx". I assume he's busy and wants to be left alone. When a guy sends a short text like that without anything to reply to, is it a really bad sign?
Archanaart Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Stop over thinking and over analyzing. Let him enjoy his holiday. Everyone has their own texting style. I wouldn't worry or think its a bad sign. He may get more excited about his surprise when he is back from holiday. Edited July 16, 2013 by Archanaart
jphcbpa Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 don't take text messages personally. detatch from them.
Author thecrucible Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Good idea. I didn't just send him a text out of the blue though. He's the one who started texting me on his trip away, and I took that as a good sign because whilst we've been on some dates, we haven't had text conversation between them before. I want to reply to his text but I don't have anything to say. Should I just leave it?
New User Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I think that you need to stick with texting and stop subtexting. 2
Author thecrucible Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 I think that you need to stick with texting and stop subtexting. Sigh! I guess you are right. Thank you everyone. Should add that I find this whole dating stuff hard because of my social anxiety and have had to exercise a huge deal of self-restraint to keep myself in check. I slipped up a couple of times but he is still interested haha Guess I'll just reply later when I have something to say. I mean I asked one of my male friends and he says it isn't good when a guy texts like that. Confusing! I may just be a lone person and not ask my friends about anything.
Omaha Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 It's always risky when sending subtle hints like this. I once was convinced a girl wanted to have sex with me because of the way we texted, but then we hung out and she just wanted to... hang out. Bummer. So don't be afraid to be direct! Guys needs girls to be assertive sometimes, although we don't mind taking the reins a decent amount of the time. If you want to have sex with him, you should be more direct about it if you really want it to go somewhere, you know? People think about things in different ways-- this can also help with you guys' communication skills.
