youngnlove89 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm going to relax today, get a bottle of wine, cuddle my pillows, lick my Nutella-filled spoon clean and watch a movie that makes me cry. What are some movies you would recommend for the heartbroken? Has anyone seen these: Sliding DoorsHigh FidelitySwingersLove ActuallyNotting Hill I haven't watched them, but I'm interested. What do you think? What's your favorite heartbreak movie out there?
JDPT Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 It would probably be a little too much for me to watch a romantic/breakup movie at this moment, I wish I could contribute.

Legatus Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I could watch Love Actually regardless of a break up or not
Author youngnlove89 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 I could watch Love Actually regardless of a break up or not I've only seen it half way. That was years ago. I was young and didn't care about love.. How I'd love to go back to scrapped knees and boo boos your mom had to kiss to make you feel better..
JDPT Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 How come? It's good to cry.. You know what, you have a point and a good one. There is a movie that I really like but not sure of the title. Is about the married woman who meets a French man on her way home, one thing leads to the other and they end up having an affair, husband finds out and that's when **** hits the fan. It's a good movie and like you said, "it's good to cry."

Author youngnlove89 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 First season of How I Met Your Mother would be good if you haven't already seen it. I think that is on Netflix, I'll check it out.
Chi townD Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Animal House, the Blues Brothers, 1941...... Personally, I look for excuses to laugh rather than cry.... Wow! I just realized those are John Belushi films! HAHA! 1
Chi townD Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Well, Belushi's role in 1941 wasn't huge.....but his performance was epic!!
AllTooWell Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I agree with the above poster: watch How I Met Your Mother. How I hope to one day end up like Marshall and Lily 1
JDPT Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 The Other Women? I don't know. Yea, I love movies that can make me cry. I feel better afterwards. It's like a detox. The movie is called Unfaithful. Unfaithful - Movie Trailer - YouTube
JDPT Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I like The Break Up. it's depressingly realistic. I hate how that movie ends. They bump into each other, small talk and go about their business.
itto ogami Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Woody Allen makes the best breakup romantic films. ANNIE HALL MANHATTAN PLAY IT AGAIN SAM You'l even feel better about being alone!
Simon Phoenix Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Swingers. That telephone call scene is too classic. Yep, funny movie, but that scene always makes me cringe. 500 Days of Summer is a solid breakup movie. 1
Talulah Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 'Love Actually' is great, I like 'When Harry Met Sally', 'Sweet November' is also good.
bluegreen Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Ladies why not watch good comedy and have few good laughs instead? Are those frogs really worth hours of sad titles and tears I think NOT.
lessica Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I've been watching always sunny in philadelphia- that's funny.
Estylo Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Before Sunrise Before Sunset Definitely, Maybe If you want to pass some time High Fidelity is always a great choice haha. 1
unexpectedlyhere Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Ever since being dumped I had this urge to watch "Time", it's a Korean movie. I don't really want to spoil it, just watch it Love actually is really light-hearted but it's too Christmassy to watch now I think. A lot of people watch The Notebook for breakups, but I hate it because it makes me cry buckets and then feel stupid for crying buckets. Some fairly light ones could be 50 first dates and 500 days of Summer - actually I should probably watch 500 Days of Summer myself! Sweet November Oh gosh there are so many if you want to go down the shameless crying route However I prefer slightly offbeat ones, a couple of brilliant early Johnny Depp ones are Benny & Joon, What's eating Gilbert Grape? and of course Edward Scissorhands.
