All you NE Ohioans! I wonder if I have ever run into you at Walmart!

I'm in the Akron/Canton area. Where are you?

Yes...I agree.

But I wouldnt consider Cleveland to be a part of NE Ohio. North central perhaps? Large metro areas tend to have a lot of friendly women from my experience. Same with Akron, Canton, Columbus. Its usually the pockets in between all those big cities that contain the people with inferiority complexes.

You need to move.

What are you considering NE Ohio and how are you considering Cleveland NOT being NE?!

Yea..lol after looking at a map I guess it would be in the NE section if we cut the state up into 4 pieces. I was going off memory...and thinking it was more west than it is.

But I still believe its different from the rest of the NE. As I said before...many people that live in metro areas are more open-minded, and easier to talk to....all the hodge-podge of cultures, opinions, and all that. Maybe someone that grows up in a metro area doesnt see it that way....but growing up in suburbia....1 hour from any metro area in any direction....I can see a blatant difference.

-I'm in a suburb about 30 mins or so east of Akron

I'm from Columbus. The dating scene here is actually pretty solid. I've met some great people (and some weirdos, as it goes), and I actually met my boyfriend from OKC. Columbus was listed as one of the best cities in the US to be single in - could you expand your search about 2 hours away? I would have certainly considered meeting someone in Cleveland when I was looking.

You are 100% correct. I was also on OKC...and the selection of women in the Columbus area vs the selection near me(Youngstown area) is like night and day. Columbus has beautiful women that are very nice and dont act like they are too good for everyone. Where I live though, the women are less attractive, but act as if they are gods gift, and wouldnt even spit on me if I was on fire. Only problem is that I'm 3 hours away from Columbus.

If you swipe left you dont like them, if you swipe right, you do like them.

Ahhh, dating is so romantic these days.

I am on a dating site. And I recently added their app to my phone. On the app....there is a section where they basically give you a Rolodex of pics of local women, which you swipe through. If you swipe left you dont like them, if you swipe right, you do like them. If you and that person happen to both like each others pics....it sends both of you a message stating a mutual match has occurred.

So since I've been on the site, I have never got 1 reply from anyone I messaged, and never got a mutual match on the swipe screen. But earlier this week...I took a 1 day trip down near Washington DC to visit a museum. When I got home later that night, I went on the dating app to see if I got any messages. I went to the swipe screen...and I started browsing through the pictures. But wait...something didnt seem right...there were actually very attractive women on it, much more attractive than I was used to seeing. I started marking pics that I liked...and boom mutual match...I mark another pic, boom another mutual match. All together 6 mutual matches...from women that liked my pic and I liked theirs.

But then reality set in....guess what? I then realized that my phone had auto located my location, when I was near DC. All those women thought I was local to them on the swipe screen. I was in their area for less than 12 hours....and I got 6 mutual matches. Without even lifting a finger on my part. How in the F*** does EVERY woman in Ohio ignore me when I email them....yet I spend half a day in DC and 6 women have an interest in me??

I dont know if it irritates me or if I should just laugh at it, because I knew it all along. I dont know what is wrong with many of the single women in NE Ohio.....but they obviously have severe unrealistic standards, on what they see as a potential date.

.

Demographics. There are more single women in DC than there are in NE Ohio.

I was down south in FL working on some proposals over the summer, and holy Batman there were some cuties... Men were coming out of the woodwork. Had a particularly fit and attractive guy ask me out at the local Starbucks... all I get in Upstate NY is same age, recovering 'fill in the blank' and age-inappropriate come ons from the kiddos looking to get their learn on and much older guys looking for Viagra surrogates.:rolleyes:

When you check the demographics for Upstate NY and NYC, you find that there are tons more women than men.

but I digress...

There are a couple of places in the country where the odds just are a lot better than others... depending on your gender.

Yes I agree. But how come women that rate a 4 or 5 in NE Ohio ignore me....and women that are 7 or 8 from DC express interest in me? Thats what I dont understand?? If attractive women from over there think I have potential....why in the hell do less attractive women ignore me that live 10 mins away?

There are attractive women that live in this area. I see them all the time in public. But why are none of them on a dating site? It seems in my area....its mostly less appealing women, that work part time, or have no job, with kids that are on dating sites. Its as if people around here use dating sites as the last resort out of total desperation....whereas people in metro areas use it as an extra tool to up the odds of finding a potential match.
