Woggle Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I would be worried about health issues with somebody eating like that.
lop98 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 It depends. If both you and the guy are really into food, cook, have conversations about it and have a lot of fun and can come back to the table with a grin and laugh it off, then I wouldn't find it to be a red flag. If you haven't bonded with the guy like that and he's eating properly... I wouldn't necessarily consider it a dealbreaker but I would find it inappropriate and tacky... this is a person that would rather 'stock up' on food than have a conversation with me and the only reason for that is because the food is cheap and easily available. Thinking way ahead, I would assume you'd behave like this if I take you to family reunions or when hanging out at a public place with my friends. For a first impression, it is a turn off. And of course I'd assume you obviously have digestive issues or maybe an eating disorder or just a strange approach to food, maybe money too, who knows what else...
SoulJazzBlues Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I would definitely start wondering about their self control and also current behavious is a great indicator of future behaviour
BluEyeL Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I think this post is a joke. Nobody can eat that much and not gain pounds. Maybe if you are bulimic and throw up after the binge.
samsungxoxo Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) I think this post is a joke. Nobody can eat that much and not gain pounds. Maybe if you are bulimic and throw up after the binge. The poster is similar to me but I've gained several pounds over the years. She should be careful because by the time a woman hits the mid-late 20's or 30's it's going to be difficult burning fats no matter what your genetics is. Right I'm 26 years old and only an inch shorter than her but can't seem to get back at 128 Lbs. as that's how much I weighted during my HS years all the way till age 19. Fast-forward, I'm still in the 140's Ibs and have stayed there for almost 4 years. It's no joke. I used to eat that much in my earlier years and not gain pounds but not for long. It eventually caught up and now I can't do that frequently like before or else I would have been in the 150ish Ibs. There was a time I did reached 152 Lbs.(I used to work at a campus cafeteria and took advantage of it) and luckily it only lasted a week. Another bad side to this: if the stomach stretches out, it's going to get harder going back to the regular portion you once ate. Just like the OP, sometimes when I go to a restaurant, I have to order regular-large plates and it's got to be followed by soup because the average portion is not enough for me. By doing these, it's making it even difficult to lose weight and therefore, I'll remain in the 140's Lbs. I can't seem to reduce my stomach; it's like it has expanded more than before. I binged ate about 3 months at a Chinese restaurant by ordering Taypa (had no idea what that plate was but the woman lied to me saying it was a regular portion for one person) and porridge. By the time I was done, it took me about 10-15 minutes to get up and recover. I've never felt so sick in my life and ever since then, more amount goes it but it's still bad. samsungxoxo Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Just yesterday I went to a Korean restaurant and ordered this food plate. The portion was a medium-large plate that anyone could have been already satisfied or even full but not me. I had to order a soup. Luckily that was enough or else I would have ordered another plate. This time I was full but not to the point of feeling sick like last time. I actually followed my mother's advice of only ordering soup when I feel it's not enough.
FitChick Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I like small portions -- except if it's dessert, then I am a bottomless pit. I could easily eat half a pie or cake or pan of brownies if you put it in front of me. I take thin slices and more thin slices over time until it's half gone!
Titania22 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Guys, would you really have a problem with that. I've stuffed myself a bunch of times but I hardly ever gained any pounds. Anyway last date I was in, it was on a buffet. My date was surprised that I didn't served myself salad nor too much veggies but meats, fried fish, chinese rice and basically anything I could find. I think I repeated 4 plates, 2-3 soups and finally the desserts. Another time I ate half of a large pizza box and finished it rather quickly. Though one guy seemed slightly disgusted. Is that really a dealbreaker to many guys? Or just some? You sound like me when I was 18. I could eat as much as a wanted, and loved eating, but was under the healthy weight range. It only changed for me when I fell pregnant the first time. Now I have to be really careful how much I eat. I am very thankful I took full advantage while I was young and could get away with it.
bluegreen Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Were you on PMS ? I know that's a time a girl can eat like a demon and there are some foods I love and can eat double portions of it but that's once in a while thing. Where you made a mistake was not choosing soup salad main course and then desert after all that's how lunch and dinner go don't they? If you did am sure you would have raised no eyebrows and been full
Els Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Are you eating that much on a regular basis, or only in buffets etc? If yes to the first, better cut down on that, hun. If yes to the second, then perhaps don't go out to buffets on first dates, but rather to a sensible place where you don't feel like you need to stuff yourself to get your money's worth. Save the buffets for later on. I'm like you when it comes to that - a nice buffet spread is a luxury that we can't afford too often - so when we do go, I let loose and indulge as much as I desire without thought for calories. If you're already with an established partner who knows you have generally healthy habits otherwise, that's okay, but with a new guy, possibly not the best of impressions. 2

thefooloftheyear Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 why don't you butt out of other people's eating habits? Work on your reading comprehension Skippy.. She actually asked for opinions from guys.. And secondly it was a joke.... Got anything else brilliant to contribute? TFY
amazingdrummer Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 every girls' dream is to eat without gaining weight. If you really can eat a huge amount of whatever you want without getting some belly, congratulation. I'm a feeder, while I don't eat a lot myself, I love to see my bf eating, and he can eat a lot. We never have to waste food when we go to restaurants. I love to cook too, and there's nothing better than seeing your man/woman enjoy your food till the last bite. If you love eating, just date someone who love to cook. 1
bluegreen Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 But it is bit sad how guys get oh she only ordered salad am so upset !!! Yet when girl eats then its issue to I suppose but its still not clear what's reason for it and once again there are certain days before and after in month when girl can eat a lot. I know I speak from my experience that at those times I can eat a half a cow but also afterwards even one meal can be enough its all hormonal. And if she has no health issues then damn : ))) am jealous is this a really worst thing girl can do or is worst thing out there come on people really? By no means I advocate becoming a slug or stuffing your face sitting on a couch all day but what I see girls doing and have no shame at all this is honestly least bad thing I heard in while.
