I once saw this movie (forgot the name), that described that when a guy really loves a girl whenever he's with her he wants to "unwrap her like a gift" as if she was his birthday present.

 

This is a very strange definition of love. No matter how strong the love is, there will always be good days and bad days, and a relationship will nearly always go through the same stages. It is almost impossible to stay in the honeymoon period forever (though I do know a handful of couples who have successfully done it.)

Great question. You realize that he cannot fix you. You do what you are doing right now. Talk about it with others, write about it, see a therapist, go to 12 step meetings (slaa) if needed, read about this, ect. Keep the focus on you and do not drain the R with demands and neediness. Get love from yourself and others.
