frostythesnowman Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Having a good day so far, there may be other threads like this but I thought I'd create a recent one. What do you do to keep your mind off your ex, blow off frustration, or just feel better in general? I'm sure everyone including myself could use some ideas sometimes. I'll start it off with a couple obvious ones that seem to help me... 1. Go to the gym, plug in some fast paced music, and have a good workout. 2. Since I play guitar, when no one is home I like to write songs and put some music to the words. Usually helps me feel a lot better after
eddyctv Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I do the guitar thing too! But i dont write sappy "i miss you" songs...i try to write funny F YOU! songs hahaha 2
LOSTnMT Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Speed.....be it by motorcycle or car If you are not riding at 130+ you are not really living.` Motorcycles are my therapist. BTW, I get my license back next month. 1

eddyctv Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I've been listening to a lot of Reel Big Fish, you should check them out...very funny ska band, very self effacing. Check out their video "Where Have You Been" on youtube...its perfect for EVERYONE on this website!
AllTooWell Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I like to walk my dog when I'm feeling really really down. If you have a pet you know you can't stay sad when they look at you with those eyes for long! Reading a new recipe and cooking (or baking. Plus, then you get to EAT IT!!) Working out is always good, but me and my ex use the same gym. And I often find myself paranoid that he's going to be there at the same time as me. (So far, so good.) Reading a book, studying, cleaning the house. Shopping for my new apartment, finding new music. Sometimes thoughts of him creep up and I try to let it happen, but quickly move on. This is my first post yay! I don't have any urge to break NC yet. 3 months post BU but only almost a week of NC (2 weeks if you don't count my slip up on Thursday. But I do.) I don't want to contact him because I know nothing good will come of it, and I don't want to get back together. But today and yesterday I missed him so much, my attitude was awful, I just wanted him to comfort me, and I know if I call, he would answer and would be more than happy to. I'm not thinking about what he's doing or who he's with or anything like that... I hope I skip that part. I think that's what sucks for me. I know if I reach out, he WOULD be there for me.
lord-christoph Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Singing has been a big help, and I'm now willing to sing anything. I used to only sing opera and power metal, now I'll sing pop (really just n'sync, the main two really are good), classic rock, and I'm looking into jazz. I'm also gonna reskin my drum set so i can play that until i leave for air force basic training in two weeks. Then I should be plenty busy
Author frostythesnowman Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 If anyone likes video games or used to like them get a new game and play it. May not be the most productive thing but I find that it helps
