I was wondering, at least in your area, how often do you see SINGLE women out and about publicly?

Be it a grocery store, flea market,, HOme Depot, etc.

EVEN the community street parties, local festivals, flea markets, etc

I hardly do, seems every time I see a woman out and about, she's with her boyfriend or husband. You'll hardly ever see a single woman in public, unless she's at a nightspot like a dance club.

At least MOST of the time that's the case....otherwise they go into hiding.

Like for instance, I had a married friend that tried to get her other single friend to attend a board game function, just for fun....but turns out...she blew it off for staying at home or something she was doing...solo.

It's like single women prefer to go into hiding, even when their BEST friends invite them to go out.

I see women alone in public all the time. More often than seeing couples.

Does that mean they're single? No. So I can't speak to that, but -- they're out there.

I'm inclined to agree with the OP. I've tried many things, but single women aren't interested in OLD, they don't want to be seen near speed dating events, and even in dance courses there are too many attached ones. It seems that the only venues they visit en masse and on a regular basis are bars and clubs. Which I detest, much to my detriment.

This is how I felt when I was single--about men. I would actually sit places (coffee shops, airports, etc) and try to count the number of single, age appropriate men I saw (meaning by themselves and no wedding band). Often it was zero. I was convinced single men either never left the house or were nonexistent.

Maybe you live in an area with more single men and couples?

All the time. Every day. Of course, they might not be single, but I see women who might be single all the time.

Well, you once talked of how on meetup.com, it seems the groups like board gaming, hiking, or whatever seems to attract couples and older women...while the "girls night out" groups land the hot single women.

Let's face it, if good looking single women can go out in packs, get velvet ropes opened, free drinks from guys, etc...they're not going to go elsewhere. Even if they later complain how the clubs/bars are full of playas and liars. That's just my experience.

NOW...one other factor is your neighborhood. I've spoken of mine. My neighborhood is full of new families, Polish immigrants, and senior citizens. However, venture into some other areas more closer to downtown (Chicago), and you'll see loads of single 20 and 30 somethings.

If you're living in an area with few prospects, then you unfortunately have to venture into other areas.

Even street festivals it depends on the area. Go to the yuppie areas and you'll see loads of single women. Whereas in an area like mine I'll see seniors, bikers, and young couples with newborns.

I'm single. I go out all the time. Art showings, gallery openings, music festivals, 5Ks, rock climbing, kayaking, swing dance, restaurants, libraries, book stores, grocery shopping, nail salon, work, work, more work, clubs, parties. I've been single for a while now,so I'm there with friends, who are much like me. Single. We're out there doing things, I promise we aren't in hibernation.

Yep I'm single and this is what I'm out doing. And guess what? When I'm out doing all these things 99% of the age appropriate guys I meet are not single.
