Oldcatskinner Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Howdy Loveshackers! As I am typing here on a Monday afternoon, the sun is shining bright, the day isn't too terribly hot, and my tomato crop is coming in great. I had a good lunch with some generally irreverent friends of mine, and it was good to catch up with them. The past few days I spent at home with the folks celebrating the 4th of July. What a great time! Mom cooked and put on quite the spread, and the extended family was on pretty good behavior. Anyways, when I was home, I found a book written years ago by Rudolf Flesch called The Art of Clear Thinking. It was written in 1951 and I found it to be a great read. Certainly not a cure-all but an insightful look at how successful thinking works. Oh, I've been broken up for two and a half months now, with the first girl that I had truly loved. You know what, life is great! I'm glad to be here, and I'm glad that I have the ability and the emotions to love. I intend to and I will find it again. Be thankful in all things; the situations that cause misery especially. I am doing this, and even in the dire dark hallways of solitude, I am my own best friend. Treat yourself right, folks, and do the best (not try) you can. That's all we can do. Have a great week! Oldcatskinner 3
